It is also one of mine to, and your right, never thought id see one of these in Adelaide, let alone on of the Air Force 2 fleet! Its weird, when we went to America, i seen these at almost every airport i was at, then come back to Australia, absolutely none to be seen anywhere

The 757's are extremely rare in australia, and to see one of these is probably even rarer!

Most probably because it has two engines, i think for transporting the president, they would much rather have 4 engines on the aircraft (which i think is silly, seeing as twin engine aircraft are just as reliable these days, especially the 777) Its why the next air force 1 will be the 747-8i, even though its been rumoured that it could be a 787, it wont be due to the fact that it has 2 engines

With the extraordinary maintenance the two VC-25s get, they're almost as good as new...almost. However maintenance is getting more and more expensive as they get older, so replacements are on order: three new 747-8s. The word here in Boeing country is that modified 787 Dreamliners were being considered, but the Air Force decided to stick with the iconic Jumbos.

Its only air force 2 if the vice president is on the aircraft and its apart of the US air forces 89 airlift wing which includes all presidential aircraft like the 747's and the 737's and the 757's

There are so many gov vip planes like this that the president takes these domestically at times. It’s not AF 2 and not known as such unless the VP is aboard and it could have been AF 1 had POTUS been aboard. It’s just a us Air Force vip transport that is all

There is no plan to replace the Air Force Two, but it is in consideration. If so, it would certainly be the 787.
