Hi, I am trying to brew my own beer at home. I've tried twice now and sadly, it never started fermenting once I pitched my dry yeast. I would really appreciate some tips or help with this. I can provide any information about my brewing process.

@@DrHansBrewery Hi, I've been trying to make a Chocolate Malt brew. The first time I tried to make it, the wort came out fine. But the yeast I used (which is Brewer's yeast) wasn't getting activated properly. And I think I put in dead yeast into my wort. So it never fermented. The second time I tried to make was actually just yesterday. And now, the fermentation process has actually started because I was able to pitch my yeast correctly. But, the process is happening very slowly, just small bubbles and light foam on top, not like how I see it in recipe videos. I am using a 20 litre food grade carboy, but I have only about 3-4 litres in there. I don't know if that may be an issue. Also, I try as much as I can to sanitize everything. I have a small kitchen. Would you happen to know why the fermentation process is happening very slowly?

@@aaryamannambiar6677 Fermentation depends on many things, correct pitch rate, hygiene, temperature is very important. Different strains of yeast react differently so the yeast you have may not look like you have seen in videos. 3-4 litres is a very small amount in a 20 litre carbooy but it should still ferment okay. Don't worry if it looks slow and don't judge it by the bubbles that is not a reliable sign. Keep it at room temperature for up to 14 days then if you have a hydrometer you should check the gravity to see if it has finished.
