Here’s the actual meaning of the song: it’s about sleep. That’s it. Bo En confirmed it was just about sleep in a KZbin comment section about this song, and it wasn’t intended to be anything dark like suicide. Sometimes musicians use sample effects like gunshots to add texture to the track, so it doesn’t necessarily mean the sound ties into the story he’s trying to tell. There you go! Mystery solved. Edit: I know this song was used during a specific scene in Omori which makes the meaning seem different- that’s not the point. I’m just sharing what Bo En stated about his own song. The Omori Dev team has the rights to this song and can put it in whatever context they want regardless of Bo En’s opinion. It doesn’t change what he personally made the song about. Edit: removed the part where I said it sounded dark because the song was requested by the Omori team. The song was actually made before Omori was pitched as a game, turns out KZbin upload dates don’t actually correspond with the date the song was created lol.
@Rosalina1027984 жыл бұрын
If that's the case, he could have just released the original version in mind on the album.
@catcactus12344 жыл бұрын
yuWIN There was never an “original” version of the song. It was most likely commissioned from the get-go to be sinister. Bo En got creative and decided to add gunshots and a heavy drop for the chorus. There was never intended to be a more calmer version. Even his songs such as “Everyday” have somewhat dark tones and heavy drops despite having no sinister meanings.

people are like "why does this make me think of suicide" boi its literally talking about going to sleep and then there's a gunshot maybe thats why. also nobody mentions the fact that the song is called my time. most people when talking about dying will say "it's my time" or if its someone else theyll say "it was their time" so it's pretty clearly mentioning death in the name of the song. that and the continued mention of going to sleep and the gunshot makes it seem like thats what it's about. thinking back to how I felt before and during previous suicide attempts this song really captures that. its a feeling of such chaos and everything is so loud. I just wanted to sleep forever. I find it hard to get up when waking. anytime I am up im always in this weird world inside my head. similar to lucid dreaming. some people also have said the song is about insomnia which could make sense. im not sure where saying "my time" fits into that tho. honestly its such an amazing song. the omori ver is super good too Edit* i didn't know bo en had actually said this was about insomnia when i commented this. I do still think the suicide interpretation works even if thats not what the song was intended to be.
@duong17624 жыл бұрын
I have had that feeling as well, an example is when i first tried self harm (im okay now), and my first suicide attempt
@forestmint2134 жыл бұрын
this song really does describe that feeling very well. especially the lyrics, how it talks about “being there soon” and how you can get rid of the pain and “go to sleep”. i definitely felt this way when i attempted. i was just so done with everything and it was all too much and all i wanted was to sleep. i was feeling like shit, obviously, but i was also strangely happy and was trying to justify my feelings, reflected by the song’s almost upbeat tune. the “regrets” and “voice inside my head” reflect how you start to think that suicide is the only way out and how your life was so horrible. it’s a great song honestly
@catcactus12344 жыл бұрын
lola moiki I definitely support the interpretation that this is about suicide, but Bo En himself said it was about sleep/insomnia on a KZbin comment awhile back. The lyrics are vague enough that they could apply to both interpretations.
