Hey bro, just so you know. Lowkey lives or lived in the block next to grenfell when it caught fire. Everyone in the video is local to grenfell. And facts for you may not know 1 the survivors to this day are still fighting for justice in courts 2 they STILL have not been housed properly 3 grenfell and the other blocks are literally 3 minutes walk from one of the most affluent parts of london And 4 the cladding on grenfell contained the equivalent of almost 35,000 gallons of gasoline. It is truly heartbreaking. In june of 2019 i saw lowkey perform in a small rundown building in my city and met him afterwards. He is absolutely phenomenal.

Ill never stop asking for justice for Grenfell, one day everyone who had anything to do with this they will all be held accountable 😑. I love that our artist and people in general are all using there platforms to speak on this still 3years later.

Apparently the cladding was only there to make the building less of an eyesore for nearby middle class residents.

Yes Mai's part is in Arabic. She said "Tell me where I can go? People are burning at the hour of dawn. I feel as if I'm in another world...I feel as if I'm in another world..." (x2) Probably the best youtube reaction to this song, thank you! The emotion in everyone's voice at the end pierces through bones, especially Lowkey's. Just all around powerful. Hope you do part 2 but I would take a break in between for sure!

Grenfell tower fire is one of the biggest injustices I've seen in my lifetime. Grenfell tower is in Kensington, one of the wealthiest areas in London, the cladding was put on the building purely to look nicer for the middle class neighbours who saw the building as an eye sore. This happened in 2017 and there are people that still need rehoming, and nobody has been charged with manslaughter of all these countless deaths. Did they not matter because many were immigrants/on low income? You hit the nail on the head when you said the way these people have been forgotten about. 100% this wouldn't of happened if it were white middle class people who lived in that building. One of the very few positives to look at from when the fire started, it happened in the middle of the night during Ramadan. As some residents were awake to break their fast, they were able to alert some people to get out. I genuinely believe the death count would've been even higher if it weren't for this factor.

So late to this but WOW your knowledge is spot on. Thank you for that as the victims are still not recognised. Lowkey lived locally and deliberately used local people in the video not him to draw attention to the issue. Its haunting and a dark dark day in our history in the UK and unfortunately no real changes have been seen

These people were living in council housing so the people in charge don’t care most of these people were Immigrants and lower class people the government don’t care when this happened there are only 72 deaths confirmed but it thought to be in the hundreds i don’t live in London I live in the north but I’m now terrified of this ever happening again this may surprise you but that cladding is still on thousand of tower blocks in the uk and many people were left sleeping in the streets for weeks and still don’t have permanent housing and nobody has been charged with anything! I totally agree with you and thank you for getting this message spread

Its a wealthy area which says it all really, a giant burnt tomb in the skyline for them to see everyday and yet it will have just become another feature, forgotten, looked past and probably resented since such towers are for poorer folk

We've spoken before and I know you're a busy man with a backlog of requests to work through before you get anywhere near mine, but just wanted to remind you to do the 2nd half of lowkeys fitb2?... Fuck all that alphabet shit, now you are aware of the grenfell situation youll dig it even more, he was basically blackballed by the BBC and mainstream media in the UK for his political views, and was actually on a terror watch list at one point as he travelled in the middle East, gave up music and delivered aid to the needy. However the people DEMANDED a 2nd booth and after 7 yrs they had to give him one-that's why at the start he says 'hold tight suspense' 😂... Seriously check it out, its possibly the best verse there's ever been in the booth... Even if the beat is a bit monotonous, his lyrics and passion are incredible.

Lowkey is the GOAT of UK hip hop/Grime/rap whatever you wanna call it. That’s coming from someone who remembers when the likes of Wiley, Ghetts, Skepta etc were coming up BTW Lowkey lived on the doorstep of Grenfell tower and was there as it burned and people died and this was murder and it will one day come out. Grenfell tower is surrounded by the richest part of London and they tried many times to acquire the land Grenfell stood but couldn’t. Guess they found their way 🤷🏻♂️
