One of the albums I listened to whilst "Stowing away" on a ship bound for the UK in 1969 ! Got there safely & managed to get of "un detected" ! What times !

true story? way cool! but how could you listen to music then? i was on a pupils´ exchange in england in 73 or 74 - we were a small group on a ship from hamburg to dover - there was a jukebox aboard which had only three songs we liked, so we listened to hendrix "all along the watchtower", hawkwind "silver machine" and the last one was, well, not the fav, but as there was nothing else we liked, rod steward "sailing", haha... i think they played this one on the radio here in germany - i loved it and even bought the vinyl album - i completely forgot about this band, but as i have a daughter who is 16 now, i started a revisiting trip to show her some of my old musical heroes - i find loads of treasures... :-) love and greetings from germany
