How's the local level with English language? Safety issues in and around La Candelaria, how safe it was?

You better learn some basic spanish, because most locals dont have a good English level, they will try to help you anyways though. Regarding safety, it is safe but you always need to pay attention to your surroundings, and as long as you stay in the touristic places you will be fine. Its a great place to visit.
