For those concerned about safety in Bogotá, here´s a link, the latest I found online, to the most dangerous cities in the world, in terms of homicide rate, not even one Colombian city is there, Medellín in particular, at some point back in the early 1990`s got to exhibit the highest homicide rate in the whole world, Since then, the city has done a lot to get rid of that awful label as to be the most dangerous city in the world, and the great efforts made in that direction have certainly paid off, the homicide rate dropped to about 20 per 100,000 inhabitants, way lower than Caracas (130), and a little higher than Bogotá, (14,7). Fact is both Medellín and Bogotá, are safe enough to visit and enjoy, they are both wonderful cities.

Homicide rate may not be the highest, but random violence is always up there. I was held up at gunpoint and knife point several times, and I was a local lol. Have seen some bad bad shit go down in the 20 years i lived in Bogota.

Bogotá has always had very strong British traditions for some reason around the turn of the century the city's bourgeoisie began to replicate everything English as it was very popular at the time and began erecting Tudor style houses and tall brick buildings. The people of Bogotá, especially the high society began observing "High Tea Time" at 11am called "Las Once" and "el Tecito con Almojábanas" again very English and proper 🤪 These traditions are very much a part of Santa Fé de Bogotá.

Richard. An advice so that your videos show what you really want to show; what is the city, its people, its streets, etc, etc. Do it at the hours of noon or at the end of the day. And not a holiday or when it's raining. This is valid for any city in the world that you want to show. For the rest, very well, and thank you for wanting to show part of our cities. Congratulations

U CAN'T C ME You don't usually see trash in Colombian cities in any areas. Usually the most touristy areas are cleaner, but generally Colombian cities are always clean. :)

The best part for shopping on bogota its “zona rosa” among 82 street and 85 street, that neighborhood it’s called la Cabrera one of the most expensive ones it’s practically next to the other ones like “Chico” “Chico reservado” “el nogal” “virrey” “el retiro” and up to carrera 7th u I’ll find this ones like in this video zona g which it’s actually located on the most iconic rich neighborhood called “los Rosales” and also there’s a lot of others nice locations going straight through the carrera 7th like “el refugio” and the other ones on the north of the city like “Santa Barbara” and “Santa Ana”

@RichardsWorld7 жыл бұрын
The problem is the safety. Most people won't even do what I was doing during the day. Doing this at night would be quite a situation. Some places would be OK at night for some sort clips, like in the Zona Rosa area. I took my night club videos in that area. I wanted to do some at night, but it didn't seem like a good idea.
@rubenfranco76906 жыл бұрын
I think there's no problem on filming some clips at night around the city, you can also get a friend and go with him for more safety, but I think it's not a big deal.

If it wasn't for the chaotic traffic of Bogotá, I could definitely retire there. The weather is great, so are the endless culinary options, shopping, and convenience to have a shop to tailor to your needs within walking distance. But!, that f..ing traffic and city noise messes it up for me.
