When you are 20-30 years old, 60 is old, then suddenly at 60, it’s like, 80-90 is old. Staying positive and healthy is the key.

I’m always telling younger people to focus on two things - protect your health (exercise, diet), and save money aggressively. I’m coming up on 60 myself, and I wish I’d been better at both!

I just turned 50 and the comment about remaining open to experience really connected. I've often observed that people get to a certain age and seem to think they know it all and life has nothing left to teach them. These are the people who complain about the younger generations and condemn anything they can't immediately understand. I have always fought this urge, and strive to remain curious and open-minded (I think guitar is great practice for that, as there's always a new thing to learn). Happy Birthday, John!

Met John a couple times in Nashville and he was super cool to talk to. He let me rig rundown his gear and hold his gold 50s LP with the bender. If you see him, tip the band, request a song, and go say hello!

Happy Birthday old boy! Welcome to the over 60's. I'm 3 years beyond you and I have a gem of wisdom to pass on... A wise man once said "We spend the first 40 years of our lives trying to kill ourselves and the last 40 trying to live forever." This may well be true, but...Keep on rockin'. Life is good and music makes it that much better.

The Baby Boom was from 1945 - 1964. I turned 60 this October, so right at the very end like John. My 10 year old son, an expert at needling me, says "Ok boomer" every time I tell him to do his homework or anything else he doesn't want to do. Due to my vast experience in life, I let the indignation wash over me and dissipate. Yay wisdom. Enjoy your videos, John. Happy Birthday!
