I’m a little confused: in cutting the cord you say for example 4x2,7m (106 in) and 8x2,5m (98 in) also 6x2,3m (90,5 in)… I’m assuming that the (,) is really a (.) And I’m not sure just where the long ones go and the short ones go. Am I to think that if I’m not concerned about cost that I make all the cords the length of 2.7m (106 in)? I think it’s a pattern that I would love to make… at least once.😂 I’m not new to macrame and I have the perfect place for a piece like this. Thank you for all your videos.
@annabaginova01 Жыл бұрын
Right, in the metric system it's the (,) that's used rather than the (.) I think going forward I will probably only use full cm in my descriptions to not confuse people with the partial meters. And you are right that if you don't care about price or how much cord is left you can just go with 106 inches for all of them 😉 I hope you will have fun recreating it!

I love this & would love to make it. I’m a bit confused on the lengths . I want to just do the basic lengths. It says 9x70cm in the sand .. does that mean 9 cords 27.5 inches long ? I see you have 18 of the same color starting out.. Then the next session says 6x2, 5m (98in) what does the 6x2 mean? I’m sorry if this sounds dumb lol
@annabaginova01 Жыл бұрын
I hope my answer isn't too late....Yes, 9x70 cm means cut 9 cords each 27.5 inches. The 18 cords are described in the line above it with the three different measures (you can use the longest one for all 18 cords if you don't care about saving cord). So in the next section the 6x2,5m means cut 6 cords at 98 inches (or 2,5 metres). I hope this helps to clarify it.

@annabaginova012 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear that 😌 Of course you can do that. For the adjustments there are multiple options - either you don't adjust it and your final piece will be a bit smaller (you will also need to leave off large sections at the end since your wood is longer) or you actually adjust the design (eg. add more diamonds in the pattern, make the braids longer, etc.) to make it larger and you cut your cords longer depending on that adjustment...

On the diamond shaped neutral section, you made the comment you made the inner side just a little bit smaller so it didn’t create excess cord at the top by the driftwood. How did you make that inner side shorter? Beautiful piece! You are a superb teacher and explain everything so to be easy to understand.
@annabaginova012 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you like my "teaching style" 😊 As for your question - it's all about how you position the travel cord. To make the section shorter you keep the travel cord closer to the top and then tighten the knots, to make a section longer you direct the travel cord more towards the ground and then tighten the knots. I hope that makes sense. I will try to explain this more in one of my next videos.
