It's amazing what young BM has come up with. He wrote the cantata in the difficult time of the spring of 1918, when, in addition to the famine in our country, many representatives of the nation's elite had to be in exile and some of them were even in prison and sentenced to death (f.e. Karel Kramář - future prime minister of CS). That is why the St. Wenceslas hymn (Svatý Václave) is quoted at the end as a memento in such a difficult times.
