Dont know if you remember me but i don't know if im in to trapping. What should i do.... - NTO

Well you won't know unless you scratch that itch. At the end of the day it's your decision. If you got the gear, run a few sets and see how you feel about it. Then go from there.

Take a brand new trap, mist it with the garden hose for light rust, mix trap dye in colman fuel, dip trap, air dry over night, polypropylene sprayed on and mixed into dry dirt, no dig outs and no frozen traps.

@Retiredatlast65 Never tried that. Appreciate the advice and thanks for watching. 👍

Did you like the results from the walnuts I may go that route next year
@Keystonetrapper11 күн бұрын
The walnuts did a fair job and I am still happy with the results. If I had to be honest, logwood dye gives better results for really nice black traps. At the end of the day for me, getting them boiling and getting rid of any odders from the previous season is what matters the most. I know some great trappers who don't dye at all. They just boil and wax. I however like black traps, so that's why I continue to do it. I really appreciate you watching and commenting. Thanks

@@Keystonetrapper yep there are so many ways to dye traps I’ve only used logwood dye but always thinking about trying something different Ya I was at minktober fest this year and leesel reuwsaat said he has 600 traps in TX that haven’t been dyed or waxed in 9 years he leaves them them when he goes home and comes back the next season and sets them and has no problems catching coyotes

@IdTrapThatOutdoors Agreed 100%! If you can get walnuts I don't think you will be disappointed unless you want a really dark result. I was at Minktoberfeat also. Wish I would have talked to you. That's probably my most looked forward to event of the year.

To get walnuts blacker you need to soak them a week or better, then boil them hard before you put a trap in. Mine get jet black and I do the same thing with a feed sack, use it like a big tea bag. Nice set up Jake!
