@@bolch88bb8Repetitive, more percussion focus, more fun and energetic than heavy techno, a lot of tribal groove influence. This set in particular is on the darker side of the new wave hard groove. Definitely distinctions in mood. I suggest checking out artists like dj swisherman, Beau Didier, Isaiah, beads trax, ned bennet, Fran LF for the more positive/fun sounding style. If you like this set the more dark/moody style then check out west code, CULT, cuffax, edvin, flits, jxxxo, alarico (1/2 funk assault), Nicolas vogler. There’s so many lots from Netherlands and big wave coming from Argentina

I keep coming back to this set for inspo, such a nice flow, perfectly timed transitions, but the best part about it for me is all the layering that just fits together like a puzzle piece to create the atmosphere. I legit go through it studying each movement he does because he finds the perfect little pocket for each sound. So inspiring and exciting. Truly a Masterclass. Producing and Djing skills through the roof.

As a techno DJ myself, I can confirm hardgroove is both more easy and harder to master then hard techno

Lemme explain: transitions are more easy if you just do 2 decks, but if you wanna master tension and release on 3 decks while consistantly keeping it interesting, you need to keep your head focussed and be creative on a whole other level, where hard techno is just a lot of aggressive kicks and heavy drops followed by a break that leads into more aggressive drops and kicks
