Your household is gonna need to be pulling in 80k+ a year if you want to afford rent here. The invasion of Texans and Californians is so much faster than new houses can be built that none of the locals can afford to rent anymore.

Lived in Idaho from 1982- 2015. Both my children were born in Boise. I lived in MULTIPLE towns in Idaho including: Boise, Meridian, Caldwell,Grangeville, CottonWood, Rathdrum, Skookumchuck, Moscow, Coeur D' Alene, Pierce and Weipe, Kamiah, and Twin Falls Idaho. I was born in the Ozarks in Missouri and my fathers saw mill and logging business is what took our family to Idaho from the Ozarks Mountains. I moved to Oregon in 2015. Now it is 99 percent Californians bleeding into Idaho. I do not blame them.. But if you make Boise just like the place you left..yoy have no one to blame but yourselves . Idaho is not a location..it is a SPIRIT.. A BOLD Spirit Of independence and rugged individualism.. So..You can run all the real Idahoans out of an area ..such as is happening in Boise..but they will just take the Spirit of Idaho with them..and leave those of you with your " hive mind" to fend for yourselves...in the Metropolis.

Hello Sissy Ray. I am a Idaho native (born in Orofino) lived in Moscow, Lewiston, Twin Falls, Boise, Meridian. Your comments are so spot on. I don’t consider it Boise Idaho anymore. The people that I have met have turned it into Boise California. It’s so sad the way things have changed past normal growth.

I’ve been reading the comments on this video about Boise being influenced by the refugees from Southern California; and Portland,Oregon, and Seattle. So far the streets that I see in videos of Boise are not littered with trash scattered around the streets; and alongside buildings like you’d see in other cities across the country!

@@IdahoVoyager and we have 4 new skyscrapers coming to Boise, two 19 story buildings, one 13 story building in a two building complex, and a 27 story building, and a 18 story building in garden city. And company’s from LA have talked about moving to Idaho because of the low costs, and I-84 is almost at full capacity, so we need a transit system, In my opinion it should run from Ontario, Oregon to Caldwell, then Nampa, Meridian, and then Boise, the rout from Ontario should run at a speed of 90 MPH and the rout between Caldwell and Boise should run at 60 MPH. The train engine should be a reliable engine like a P-42DC pulling dual deck cars. And we should have busses to reduce the traffic on I-84. I think the railway should be called BIR, or Boise inter-urban railway. I dunno I’m just going on concepts. Hopefully this city doesn’t turn into L.A.

Boise was a great place. Overcrowding and 6000 a year property tax on the average home. Schools, roads and police are way behind the population growth. Compared to any of the left coast cities it is great. But they are bringing their politics and rudeness here. The city is changing and loosing its charm rapidly.

Our downtown and other areas around the city are exploding like Boise. There are cranes going up everywhere, as apartments, hotels, and businesses keep going up in many areas. I really enjoy cities with populations/sizes similar to Huntsville. I visit Chattanooga Tn quite a few times each year, and it's another exciting city with alot of attractions. @@IdahoVoyager Thanks for the reply! One thing I forgot to mention is that I've always wanted to see the blue turf on Boise St's football field. I've seen it on tv for years. I'm a huge college football fan and have been to many Alabama games and some Auburn fball games ( I'm a huge Bama fan) over the past few decades. Alabama and Auburn both have beautiful stadiums, but I can imagine it would really be pretty neat too see a gm on the blue turf! I think it's the only college field in the country with blue turf? Whoever thought to do this was really genius! It's great marketing for the college. Weather you like it or don't like it, sports fans across the country know the blue-turf field is in Boise. Have u been to any games there?

Yep, I’ve been to many games on “The Blue”. It’s pretty awesome. It was first installed in 1986. Boise State was I-AA in football back then (FCS) and the AD at the time thought it’d be a good way to get some attention for the school. The rest is history. What’s made it so special is how good the Broncos have been over those 35 years. They moved up to Division I (FBS) in 1996 and since 1999 own a record of 122-7 (.946) in regular season home games including a winning streak of 65 straight from 2001 to 2011.

I'm a Canadian who is horrified about what is happening in my country right now, and would love to move there. But on a Canadian pension, which is is split up into 3 parts, I would lose the biggest part moving out of the country. So unless I win the lottery, I guess I'm stuck here. But if I did win the lottery, I think I would move to Boise, probably Hyde Park. And I would have a cabin or summer house in Coeur d' Alene right on the lake. And probably spend a lot of the summer up there. Then you have the best of both worlds.

Unfortunately, under the radar cities like Boise pop up on "top 10" lists all over the internet and people who ruined California move inland and bring their same idiotic mindset with them. Happened in Boise, happened in Nashville, Denver, Phoenix, parts of Texas etc etc etc. Like a plague. Until States take a stand and keep ex-residents of California out (will never happen) places like Boise will continue to rise in cost of living.

Want to see what Boise will look like in a year or two? Bend Oregon was a quaint, high desert town with friendly, kind neighbors who waved at you as they passed by in their car. Now it’s crowded, expensive and full of self centered mean streaked city dwellers. Local developers are getting rich destroying the Mountain View’s with 5 story “low income “apartments and median end housing they will super inflate at selling time. Tent cities are popping up everywhere. Traffic is gridlocked in the AM and PM. Liberal politicians are invading city council and ruling positions. Be fore warned Boise they will bring their crappy liberal attitudes and it will change your fair city! Hope the good Lord dumps tons of snow this winter .
