Poseidon smurf complaining Loki is OP could legit be its own stereotype at this point. Especially since it doesn't give the loki player any credit for actually outplaying them 4:35 boit begins walling off his gold in preparation for poseidon's early game, because poseidon goes for hermes, signalling centaur + spirited charge cavalry, going for raids & gold starve. 5:17 the poseidon attack begins, but boit is already walled off and working up to watchtowers. The attack goes okay, but really achieves no significant damage on the Loki economy. Poseidon player continues investing in very expensive hippeus to continue the raid, when he had won map control and could've just spammed fishing ships and eaten hunt to boom like crazy whilst the Loki player was safely bottled up in their base. Investing so heavily in a raiding force when the Loki player has a spy in the raiding force means there's very little opportunity to catch the Loki player by surprise. The poseidon player just isn't adapting as well to what the Loki player is doing, especially since they have already seen that the Loki player is spamming the ever loving hell out of hall of Thanes hersirs. HOT hersirs are HOT. Fast and good for catching hippeus. But he maintains the same strategy even though the loki player has gone for 2 TCs, and continues angling for engagements even though he has map control + CF, and the Loki player keeps getting better army positioning before engagements because he knows where the greek army is but the greek army doesn't know where his army is. The loki player cannot summon myth units if you do not feed him hippeus!!! If the strat is not working, adapt the strat! Boom and go mythic! Build infantry! Do something different! I also think there is a stereotype that classical Loki players were trained by classic AOM to not just rely on your major god's strengths (because Loki hersirs were much more important but also easier to counter in classic), which I think is also true for all the gods. Just because poseidon has amazing cav doesn't mean you need to blindly commit to cav every game

Crazy ironic that a POSEIDON player is complaining about another god being broken. The amount of times that the Poseidon only had to push or commit to a fight and the game would be won was also a lot. Well played on both sides but variation was needed to overcome strengths. Just because Poseidon is cav heavy doesnt mean you HAVE to use them only or for Loki, get some throwing axemen and jotuns out there. again good game 👍

The initial walling and defensive moves were well played. Given the vast amount of resources spent on Hersir, I think a handful of hirdman (and getting dwarven breastplate) to dissuade the raids and gradually section off the gold with walls would've saved you a lot of blood and sweat here. Not tears though, those are reserved for the stick-to-one-strat regardless of reason, logic and clearly being spied on Poseidon smurf. Even at half this rating Greek players know once you've got the map and the Norse player hemmed in, you mass tox, take and defend the middle gold, age up, get the appropriate counter units (hysp or prodromos) with your tox + previous meatshield, a handful of siege and gg. With the disparity in age up timings it would've taken you forever to mass huskarl. He had every option open to him but went all in on a strat that wasn't working, didn't bother to defend his gold and cried about it.

Loki has always been frustrating to play against because his myth unit spawns can be or feel so rng and like there’s no counter. If anyone could deal with it I would think it would be Greek with the really good hero’s. I think his micro just wasn’t on point and he tried to commit in that early fight way too hard. Norse especially Loki struggles when you don’t fight him. No action no myth spawns and no favour generation. He also should built more archers and just micro’d them well but that takes a lot of skill.
