Honestly sometimes the Korean brands that are popular OUTSIDE of Korea may be more suitable for those who are not living in Korea because the products may be produced specifically for those climates... Korea is relatively drier than where I'm living so when I buy products that are popular in Korea, its usually too moisturising for my skin type and the humid climate I'm living in And tbh i personally found products like Torriden, Skin1004, BOJ are as good as those that are popular in Korea I don't find a huge difference among those brands, as long as you know what ingredients are good for your skin type and the climate youre living in

Finally someone actually talking about super unknown brands outside of Korea, usually when other youtubers do these videos, it's just people discussing brands popular overseas that aren't popular in Korea.
@oreinge3 ай бұрын
I love that you actually share what's popular in Korea - items that are not Torriden and people claiming we don't already know about it overseas! Btw, I've been using the Dioxionist Ampoule and I think you would enjoy it too. Currently all the rage on Hwahae. Sooo good.

I have good skin. I started when I was 14 years old. There's no reason to spend more than 15 euros for any kind of creme unless it's sunscreen. Even the sunscreen I'm using right now only costs like 12 euros. Also if a creme/cleaner doesn't at least last half a year I don't want it (˘ ˘ ˘)
@killbethy2 ай бұрын
It's better not to be trying different things all the time. You find what works for you, which will change depending on the climate around you, hormones, the aging process, etc. and stick to it. I'm a cosmetic dermatologist and stick to about 10 - 12 products per year (some of which cost less than $10) that I switch up depending on the season or my menstrual cycle. Skin likes gentleness and consistency. You have no idea how many skin conditions I have to correct for influencers due to them constantly trying out different products, not using them long enough to even tell their effectiveness, and offscreen, most wind up maintaining very minimal skincare routines just to be able to use a product a few times (never trust influencer reviews... it can take months to tell how well a product works and just how much of it doing well or not is dependent on what they already using).

I have to say that the Fromrier sunscreen does pill and peel off from facial expressions. It doesn’t work well under makeup due to this. I’ve tried everything and been using it for a month now. The risk is that you’re not being protected properly from sun rays but it does feel good! Probably not waterproof. Save your money!

I just use what works for me and I don't mind if some things aren't popular in Korea too. The skincare market is oversaturated and sometimes gems fall under the radar. My Korean sister in laws, they always keep on top of what's hot. My SILs have let me try, throughout the years, several products that were ultra-hyped within Korea at the time and I wasn't the biggest fan of some of them and preferred the "hyped in the west" stuff over them sometimes. It's all very personal. Something I keep in mind as well, is that my SILs have access to regular facials and derm visits back in SK. I do not. We have very different needs. From what I've seen in SK and from what my SILs recommend, the popular brands latetly within Korea include wellage, round lab, aestura, torriden, d'alba, tocobo, s.nature. Some brands also have one super popular product and others that aren't as hot lately.

I think westerners placed Glow Recipe and Peach & Lily under the kbeauty category because the founder of both brands are ethnically Korean. The founders are very much into Korean beauty, especially skincare, and that is why they’ve wanted to incorporate that into their brands. So, do what you want with this little piece of information. 😆

DPC Pink Aura cushion (21 Pink Beige) for $56 with refill I am: +40 dry, sensitive skin, neutral light with pink undertones The tone-up feature is just white cast, not enough pink tone. Buildable but it brings out texture, doesn't look natural on me. Performed poorly overall especially for the price point. Thoughts: - Not for anyone closer to 22 shade - Not for dry skin - Not for Neutral skin tone - Not for textured skin - Better for oily skin

You mentioned yo were trying to avoid makeup. Why? Do you prefer BB cream instead? (I use Numbuzin #3 Porcelain base-skip tone up sunscreen like a BB cream) I’m wondering if using a cushion encourages acne. After all, even if you wash your cushion often, you are still patting it into the same container everyday. Whereas if you use a BB cream instead, it comes fresh from the tube.
@407Maddi2 ай бұрын
BB cream or cushions are so much easier to apply without worrying about “getting it right.” You literally can’t mess it up. If I’m in a rush and need some coverage or evening out if my skin, I use a cushion- I have several! I use foundation (Dior Forever) when I want to look super out together! Maybe Soo does the same. ❤😊

It's a chemical sunscreen and also not a tone-up sunscreen so I highly doubt it'll leave a white cast on darker skin tones! :) With physical sunscreen then it will leave a white cast due to the filters (eg. zinc oxide, titanium oxide) used.
