Born in Rio de Janeiro, Bola Sete's name means "Seven Ball". In Brazilian billiards, the seven ball is the only black ball on the table, and Bola got this nickname when he was the only black member of a small jazz group

these guys are having so much fun, visibly just enjoying themselves. this is the purity that creates such fluidity.. a natural, organic synchronization of soul expression. bola's gentle melodies and timbre.. vince's airy, softly-touched chords subtly highlighting the rhythm.. fred and jerry's simple, soothing groove.. playing like this occurs once-in-a-lifetime. only these guys would be able to achieve such a synergistic collaborative sound. thank you for this very, very special documentation of these souls creating magical, transcending sounds.
