Brooke didn't stop Ridge from taking the blame when Rick shot Grant ...and before anyone says anything a mom always wants to protect her child no matter how old they are ...she let ridge keep that secret for years ...even when Rick started hating on ridge and coming after him

I could counter-argue your statement in so many ways....Just because Stephen left and we have never heard the real reason, it doesn't mean, he loves his children, any less than Stephanie does.Stephanie was never faced with a choice to stay or leave her children...it was a given for her to stay.Stephanie did not also seem to care much for her...other children.She was obsessed with Ridge....probably because she knew or suspected he might not be Erics.Stephanie became obsessed with Ridge when he fell in love with Brooke because of her history with the Logans and the competition she had with Beth Logan.Stephanie psychologically damaged all her kids, they all don't have stable marriages or children.Beth Logan dated Eric first and Stephanie used her pregnancy with Ridge, to get married to him.I hear Stephanie's Dad paid Eric for the marriage and Beth Logan was a single woman who got her children to be university graduates, as for the Forrester kids being spoon fed careers at Forrester creations with no independent career interests like the Logans.Brooke was a pharmacist, Storm a lawyer, Donna and Katie did graduate from College.Bridget is a medical doctor....So we can't determine who loves their children more or less.There are so many negative things I can say about Stephanie as a mother and parent

First Darla died and she and Taylor covered her crime then this guy. If Taylor wasn't married to Nick she wouldn't let Ridge confess either. Stephanie the Queen of all cover-ups of her dear Taylor and son. These two women claim to have moral compass but Brooke has no morals so she got her son to disclose the past even though she's not with Ridge

For all of her self-centered and sometimes delusional shenanigans, there are times when Brooke comes out with some pretty insightful observations. Pointing how damaging Stephanie’s overbearing ‘love’ can be, and the fear she causes her own family, was a little too on the nose for Miss Steph’s comfort.
