Watching this episode back yrs later is very interesting. Liam did what I feel lots of men do and underestimate the value they start to hold in a womans life. I think he truly was being a nice guy and being sensitive to her state on being especially after everything she went through with his dad, but the sensitivity and lack of boundaries early on created the 50 million year love triangle we see today. So many moments give the green light for someone to fall for you and think you are falling for them as well. It is always up to the party who is in a realtionship to feed into those moment because attraction and opportunity creates a dangerous situation!!

She had no particular liking for Amber, she just freaked out about someone dying. I am surprised the writers allowed Taylor to accept Steffy and Bill’s so-called relationship. That is crazy. Taylor is psychologist and she knows very well, that Steffy was projecting the love she has for her father on Bill who is older enough to be her own father. Ridge as a her father was not listening to what Steffy was going through. He was dying to the love from her father and acceptance from Ridge and only person she could turn to was Bell. Hope didn't express any romantic interest in him in the first meeting, but Liam expressed it to Hope. In result, Hope said she wasn't interested at the moment cause she was still in this on-and-off relationship with Oliver so Hope and Liam were friends. He supported her through this whole desperate and kind of controlling-Oliver situation while she supported him in finding his dad. Eventually, she finally kicked Oliver to the curb (which, frankly, needed to happen sooner cause he was super lame and controlling) and finally acknowledged this great guy that's been interested in her, supportive, and right in front of her nose the whole time. There was really no "idolizing" or desperation to be had. It was purely two people who were interested equally in each other.
