Liam was often a hypocrite. On the one hand he always insists on honesty, which he often wasn't himself, on the other hand he forgets his oath "in good and bad times". Steffy had reasons for her actions as you can see. If Liam had given her the assurance that he didn't care about Hope, then she wouldn't have done so either. Nobody can tell me that they have never lied to their advantage. It just happens. There should always be honesty in a marriage, but Liam should first and foremost think about WHY Steffy kept the presence of Hope away. He didn't give her any security.
