Its not misleading at all. To be so gunho not even a few weeks prior to have Steffy sign the same papers...to only tear them up didn't mean anything except Liam didn't want an annulment. He loved Steffy then and he loves her now...Steffy gave up on being his shield and when she did Liam showed his true feelings. Liam could no longer hide behind being married and waiting for the divorce as his reasons for being hesitant to married HOpe is proven to be quite unsettling and unstable and in my opinion unsuitable for marriage. HOpe has a lot of demons she needs to conquer but her Smother is her Achilles.

I disagree with you on that Ridge "never liked Hope". Ridge was always very much protective of Hope because of how she was conceived and brought into the world. She held a special place in his heart because IMO of the fact that he wasn't born from Eric but Eric raised him as his own. Ridge never wanted Hope to be hurt by Deacon and that why he agreed with Brooke and keeping him away from Hope when she was growing up. And because of this he allowed himself to be stretched between different families. Ridge has always had a better commitment to Brooke's kids than to Brooke herself. Even when it hurted his own kids he stayed true to Hope and R.J more than Thomas, Phoebe and Steffy.
