@@Esi528 Their relationship was beautiful at the beginning, they both needed it. Beth needed this relationship for that phase, when she went through the cancer or lump removal. I don't know if she removed the whole breast. Perhaps that was Eric's purpose for that season, to give strength to feel attractive and like a woman. Sometimes as people we confuse seasons for a lifetime. Don't get me wrong, I would prefer for Beth to be with Eric, the man she loves but life is not black and white, when one is a parent. There is more for everyone to lose, if Eric leaves Stephanie. First of all, Stephanie is responsible for making Eric's company and the money he has. She has been taking care of Angela alone, the Scandal and trauma to both his children and Beth's. Yes, their adults but such experiences bring trauma, no matter the age. Part of why being a parent is a serious decision, you have a responsibility to the children and the family unit. I understand why they both had to stay with their respective partners and I respect them for that. However soon enough, we are shown that Eric might love Stephanie but he is not physically attracted to her or she is not willing to do what is needed to fulfill him in that department and he needs to chase after other women. I believe Eric loved Beth in some way but he also loved Stephanie and had a deeper bond with her because they were married for long, had 5 children but there was something missing for him, hence he kept marrying other women, Brooke, Sheila, Donna etc, it's also interesting that they were relatively younger women than Stephanie and overtly sexy except for Sheila. Sheila was not as sexy as Brooke, Donna, Lauren and ooh, Eric had a thing with Jacky Marone, who was his peer but more sexier than Stephanie.

I am amazed at just how much everything that is happening to the Foresters is because of Stephanie's machinations and interference. She put Clarke in Kristen's orbit, she brought back Stephen, she hovers over Caroline, and the "Angela" reveal is softening up Eric's feelings to her a bit. Even Donna posing nude is tied in to Stephanie bring her father home. One of the few storylines not tied to her is Katie/Rocco.
