I do very much appreciate the way Thorne refuses to play along with Bill controlling their lives, even if he has his concerns about Ridge herself. After sitting through the adults fighting their kids' battles in the early 2010s, I find this refreshing.

Bill might not be perfect but he saw what was coming....one brother almost dead...If Caroline wanted Ridge no problem but don't marry one brother and playing along with the next...you dealing with deep emotions and feelings.....Am not saying that she and ridge shine enemies but create boundaries

Speaking of Caroline being an only child, the creation of Dollar Bill Spencer has always bothered me in terms of continuity. Bill Sr only had one child, Caroline. Then they retconned Karen, which was somewhat implausible but easier to buy since it happened early on and we did at least get a mention of Karen's abduction before she reappeared. But Dollar Bill just kind of showed up out of thin air without any backstory and without any attempts to fill in the gaps. To this day, we still don't know when and how he was conceived, who his mother was, how Bill Sr found out about him, or how Dollar Bill discovered he was a Spencer. He was just there one day as if Bill Sr had always had a son. And then Dollar Bill had two sons of his own created the same way, just appearing out of nowhere. And Karen suddenly had a daughter we never heard about before (a bit more plausible since Karen had already left LA by the time she would have had Caroline). So that makes five retconned "surprise adult children" within the same family!

Our current Bill Spencer was a retconned creation to give Don Diamont a job after his character Brad was killed off on Y&R. He didn't exist before then, but he was the illegitimate child from an illicit affair (which is ironic and hypocritical, given Bill Sr's hatred of Ridge's flakiness).

I had to go back to look at the old episodes to realize that RIDGE WAS HAVING AN EMOTIONAL AFFAIR WITH BROOKE AND CAROLINE WHO WAS DATING THORNE AND SLEEPING WITH OTHER WOMEN AT THE SAME TIME AND KISSING ON MARGO. HE WAS A VERY NASTY MAN. EVEN THOUGH BROOKE WAS WRONG TO NOT GIVE THE LETTER QUICKER TO CAROLINE I UNDERSTAND WHY THORNE AND BROOKE DID THAT AND WHY BILL SPENCER BACKED IT UP AND SUPPORTED THORNE BECAUSE RIDGE HADN'T CHANGED HE WAS STILL SLEEPING WITH OTHER WOMEN AND THORNE WAS MORE SIMILAR TO CAROLINE THEN RIDGE AND CAROLINE. ALSO BROOKE WAS A DIFFERENT KIND OF VIRGIN. LIKE THE PHOENIX GOING DOWN INTO HELL FOR THAT MAN AND FLYING BACK UP TO THE TOP. SHE HAD NO QUALMS ABOUT GIVING UP HER VIRGINITY AND PRINCIPLES TO THIS SKANK OF A MAN AND GOING THROUGH HIS SENSELESS TRAVELS OF GROWING UP OR REACHING SOME SIMILANCE OF MATURITY ALONG THE WAY OF BOTH OF THEIR INSANE MISTAKES AND ISSUES. I guess Caroline is worried that Brooke will get Ridge if she moves out. Brooke was doing the same with her. I hope Taylor isn't like this. Ridge could be with anyone and will be. Thorne and Ridge have a pattern I see. Ridge leads them to the ocean to drown and Thorne saves them.. only for them to say thank you... while Ridge pops back up and gets the glory anyways with Thorne only having a glimpse of encouragement. Hmmmmmmm Ridge is interesting..... it's all in the eyes. Ridge has Brooke as a backup, it's obvious he is trying to keep Caroline around to sway her away from Thorne. You and Caroline can be friends outside of Forrester.... life goes on. Thorne is delusional, Thorne you don't know what Caroline really wants. Ridge we as women do have other obligations. The women on this soap are too available, I see why he fell for Taylor, she was definitely different. Thorne keeps thinking of himself and I kinda feel bad for him. Brooke did not forget who Stephen was entirely, she just blocked him out of her mind for it brings her pain.
