No, Eric is not selfish really, if a marriage doesn't work it just doesn't, it's not like he is walking out, he married Stephanie because she was pregnant and he didn't even ask if the child was his, he did it because it was the right thing to do... but Stephanie tricked him, she is not a good woman. Stephen is a deadbeat for sure.

@@Esi528 This is so untrue, Margo has taken advantage of everyone and nothing happened to her, Alex is happily traveling around even though she helped destroy a marriage to be (she knew Ridge was getting married and got laid with him anyway) and still got her much desired interview with the Forrester, Donna was cheating on Mark with Rocco way before he did it to her and manipulated Rocco's and Katty's relationship and she continues to be without consequences, Brooke is a selfish golddiger, Caroline is hot for Ridge while married to Thorne but also no consequences for her innapropiate behavior, and Stephanie is probably the worst of all. I think you are just projecting at this point lol there are only a handful of redeemable characters in this opera.

It's interesting that in 1988 they could tell more than one story at a time. In 2023, we have Eric and RJ designing and then we have two sets of characters over at Forrester discussing Eric and RJ designing,

I tried to watch the recente episodes. It looks like they put ONE SINGLE storyline involving 05 or 06 characters and the rest of the cast just disappears for weeks. They have a cast of + or - 20 characters with + or - 10 recurring characters but we only see a few of them per episode. This makes the flow of the history so boring. In the old episodes, we see multiples storylines and everybody has his/her moment or importance.

It seems Brooke is always pushing Ridge for a commitment he doesn't really want to give her. She proposes to him, and then later on when they were living together she had to drag the "I love you" out of him by repeatedly asking him to say the words and threatening to leave if he didn't. I never got the feeling Ridge was quite as into her as she was into him.
