I like how this show, as my friend Daniel tells me, plays all the beats: of Stephanie's controlling nature, of Brooke's desperation, of Margo's jealousy, of Clarke and Sally's opportunism, just all of it takes it time and develops character along the way so when the next big thing happens you understand why it's happening. Soaps today are not allowed this development, it literally has to burn story. (I am guilty when I write my independent, creative projects). I wish I had a mentor!

You are so correct. I watched a recent season of bb and a new character was introduced and within an episode or 2 they pulled they will they or wont they get together and I'm thinking -Why would care? I don't even know this new guy.

You also see the characters always working at and invested in their jobs on a daily basis. Like, they are literally always talking shop at the breakfast table and also actually at work doing WORK! lol And the entire family actually knows the business and feel like the actually know about design and fashion. Ridge, Kristen, and Thorne aren't just lazy, spoiled, rich brats, but hard workers who take pride in their work.

9.17 For the first time Stephanie is doing the right thing. I don't know why but she doesn't want Caroline to go ahead with Ridge. Maybe because she is scared Thorn might attempt for a second time to shoot Ridge.

Margo is like the gum stuck on the bottom of your shoe that you can't get rid of. What Brooke did with the letter was wrong, but Caroline got the letter before she married Thorne. It was a small family wedding and planned in one day. Caroline could have easily and should have canceled the wedding if she still loved Ridge. Caroline tries to put all of the blame on Brooke for her marrying Thorne instead of Ridge, but Caroline is the one that made the final decision to go ahead with the wedding.

Exactly Thorne rushed that wedding way too quickly so he could make sure Caroline didn’t figure out if she wanted to be with him over ridge.

So the reality of that story is that her relationship with Thorne was based on support through trauma. There wasn’t much else that they shared. The emotional connection and he care & concern for her was real but that’s not a romantic relationship.

I doubt that Caroline is seeing that therapist anymore. But yes, Caroline is acting and talking as if her marriage and Thorne are an alfterthought. She is treating the situation - still being married and sharing her husband's rooms and bed - as "a little complication" - while she acts as if Brooke is the one who currently interferes in her relationship - more her "secret affair" - with Ridge. It must be denial.

She comes back several times for guest appearances. There's a storyline years later when Brooke goes missing, where Sloan, Mitchum and Burnett are brought back briefly in their roles to help locating Brooke. And one strange (because unnecessary) storyline when Katie asks Brooke for her blessing to work as a waitress (?). And one involving Ridge asking Katie to help him get Brooke back.

Nancy Sloan's final regular appearance as Katie and they can't even have Brooke in the farewell scene with her and Donna - another lame, lame departure for an original character/cast member. Don't know what they were thinking in those days.

It has become clear, to me, they were shifting focus: moving Brooke into the Forrester family and Donna into the Spencer family, in a way to ultimately eliminate the Logan family, etc. It's disappointing, because the Logan family added a third dimension to the Forrester & Spencer families. And I do believe this was being done in order to further develop Sally Spectra and that side of the storyline.

She had too.. to get Caroline to back off.. Caroline was so2 aggresive.. I mean the things Caroline was saying and doing are outrageous considering she is still married to Thorne who knows nothing of these actual developments. She goes to see ridge and unload her feelings on him.. Next minute she goes down to Thorne office and is about to let him kiss her before the phone rang to distract him. She is shamelessly throwing herself at Ridge without having the decency to break it off with Thorne first. M sure Brooke will say anything at this point as Caroline has crossed the limit as a married woman.

I dislike loose ties and cliff hangers! Katie could've went off to College. Dave could of got transferred somewhere else. Nick could of still been around, him and Rocco were getting a nice bromance. Rocco could've stuck around. Storms send off could of been better.

I am completely guessing on this, but I think there had a lot to do with actor interest and the public reaction to these characters not being favorable at the time. It would've been easy to recast some of these characters but I think critics were coming down on some of the storylines which is why we saw a lot of these characters dwindle off. It's the same thing now, except the show today just sucks and is boring with no fault of the actors/actresses coming on

@@jessicascalzitti8268 Pretty sure it was William J. Bell's way of cleaning slate and re-shifting the focus from the Forrester, Logan & Spencer families to the Forrester, Spectra & Spencer families. Clearly he thought there was room for one B-line family, and it was a trade-off of Logan for Spectra. In the long run it was a nice switch... but I do think there was room for both.

I Technically any designs he create are Forrester’s Designs. He works for them and is not allowed to be designing for anyone else, especially a competitor. I think he is creating new designs that he is not giving to Forrester; this way when Sally gets them out Forresters never would’ve seen them so they would have less suspicion. He can get in big trouble if it was found out and fired, however, it would not be as bad as if he gave them the same designs as the ones that will be shown at the Forrester Fall showing.
