The two embrace and kiss. Taylor tells Blake she broke it off with Ridge. Blake comforts her. Stephanie finishes viewing the tape and then tells Brooke that Ridge still has feelings for her. Brooke realizes that Stephanie's memory is back. Stephanie blurts out to Brooke that she wants Eric back.

Caroline shamelessly left her husband in bed several times and lied about her adultery yet she’s the “saint.” Taylor jumped from one mouth to the other. Hides Blake’s mental instability and her own but she’s the saint. Brooke is no saint but she’s better than they. Each one of them did whatever they could and if one’s gets called out, the others should, too.

@@donkeygospel6 …..I don’t know how so many perceive Eric so badly. Why was Eric always expected to stay where he truly didn’t want to? The man stayed and tried FAITHFULLY for 30 years, and he tried being honest about wanting out, but it’s not his fault it was never accepted. Stephanie and often his grown children just wanted him wherever THEY wanted him. It’s no surprise the man just got TIRED and often rebellious. He has never been PEACEFULLY allowed to live HIS life on his own terms sadly until it seems now in 2022, after 35 freaking years. Eric never had any real peace until Stephanie died, no matter how much the writers tried to rewrite their history as if he TRULY romantically loved her. They would have worked so much better as friends. Stephanie had so much more onscreen chemistry with Adam. It’s a shame they didn’t try to explore that more instead of the never ending one sided obsession with Eric, who she CLAIMED to know and love better than anyone, yet she dismissed his passionate and human needs as ridiculous, always guilting him to be with her, in her need to simply own and control him. They were one of the most horribly written soap couples ever, and their dynamic worked less and less as the years went by, because I think DEEP DOWN Stephanie KNEW Eric never truly desired her, no matter how many times he kept coming back for this reason and that…… and how many times she connived and manipulated to keep him. It honestly got tiring. Eric deserved so much better…. and the brilliant passionate acting chops of John McCook most definitely did. It’s laughable how Stephanie was often called strong. She was the epitome of a weak desperate woman, who always felt the need to control others to get what “SHE” wanted…..and sadly she never valued Ridge’s happiness either unless it served HER in some way. Such an evil bitter bully of a woman. YES Susan Flannery portrayed her well, especially in the earlier seasons, but as the years passed, her one note whining and hate and obsession with Brooke got more and more tiring, especially when Brooke was clearly no longer a threat for her to have Eric, and he still CLEARLY didn’t want her!! 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Eric in the later years has sometimes acted really awful (eg the SL with Eric - Quinn-Carter-Donna), but in the early years Eric AND Stephanie had been unhappy and Eric for a long time had wanted to end that marriage, had been honest with Stephanie about his unhappiness and had brought up divorce talk (second episode of B&B) Eric has cared about Stephanie's feelings - currently he is happy about having a "friendship" with his ex-wife - but that does not mean he has to stay in a marriage that he is unhappy in. Eric in 1990 had not wanted Stephanie to know about Brooke being the other woman, because he knew that Stephanie then would never agree to the divorce, while before that, Stephanie had even accepted it and had thought she could become "friends" with Eric's new love interest - that it would be possible for STERIC to stay "friends" and business partners.

With Conway or his assistant I could believe that Stephanie was on purpose acting dumb (eg when she asked Ken if the man that had been seen visiting Brooke might be a male model). But no, Stephanie on one hand pushed BRIDGE together - but on the other hand she never seemed to think her beloved son might cross the line and betray his father. Instead Stephanie seemed to expect an unknown stranger being Brooke's secret lover. (even at a place like FC, the research lab). Stephanie: I want to show that tape to Ridge and Eric. I want them to truly understand what a valley tramp Brooke is. No, I don't think that Stephanie then played dumb and wanted to show her son that tape to remind him of what he SOB he had been getting involved with his stepmother, the valley tramp, to betray his own dad. With Brooke, Stephanie so often lost all her sense and just jumped to sudden conclusions.

Taylor had just returned the engagement ring, and Ridge again daydreams of past moments with his ex-fiance Brooke.
