Honestly, I am not enjoying this storyline for Sheila. She is not an expert at communicating with the Forresters. She basically lies and manipulates them. I like Sheila more when she was just about to get caught lying to Eric or having the Forresters find out what she did in Genoa City. The way she talks to Connor, you think he might look into Sheila's past and figure out what a nutcase she is.

This is my favorite version of Sheila: doing sneaky stuff and manipulating other people’s relationships and the plot but not cranking things up to an absurd villain level (like the cartoon they turned her into post-2000). The way she's reading Karen's letter and relishing it is so much fun! Love Kimberlin's line-reading on, "You _also_ must know..." (18:53), the way she pauses like can't believe what she's reading on "Out of hand at Brooke's?!" (19:04), and then like she can't believe how much gold she just struck with, "The way they did at my apartment on _another_ occasion." (19:11) It's easier to enjoy a character being bad if the stakes are relatively low (i.e. not committing a felony) and there's a kind of perverse pleasure in watching another character snark at the sappy love expressions between a couple. Soaps traffic in romantic sentimentality, and Sheila is offering the viewer a chance to sneer at that sentimentality for a couple we don't care for.
