It's like he became a persona non-grata and/no back story that led to his eventual departure. To your point about Karen, she's been way out of place of everyone's storylines and the tipoff is when shes friends w Brooke until w Connor and now residing her as friendly status w Spectra to the point of her eventual departure of the show. From there (1994 - 2009), there was no involvement of the Spencers until the storyline of Bill Sr's death, and the introduction of Bill Jr afterwards.

3 epis from ss 1-7 was the reason of building up a great international community here. We all live in different time zones, in different working schedules, in different family situations. But during the 3 a day we mostly found our way to be online at the same time, and thats what makes it great. I suspend my disbelief a lot in this show these days, but one thing I just cannot cop is Mike as Forrester security. As if someone in the family would not realise what a slimy, scheming worm he is. And if he was the world’s greatest actor, being able to fool them effortlessly, he simply wouldn’t be working there - he’d be able to do bigger and better things. Just a lazy way to get Sheila an accomplice on the inside when convenient.

The scene with Anthony makes it even more clear how this whole mess with him, Sally and Macy is largely his fault. He is _deliberately_ maintaining the status quo and not resolving anything, trying to get as much as he can from _both_ women at once. I'd say Anthony is like 85% responsible, the way he's knowingly playing Sally and Macy against each other, and playing house with Sally and CJ while lusting for Macy. Maybe 10% of it is Sally's fault - for repeating the mistake she made with Clarke and imagining the perfect romance with a younger man without really picking up on the fact that the guy doesn't reciprocate her romantic feelings, for allowing CJ to see Anthony as a father when he is in fact Sally's roommate and not in a relationship with her, and for pushing Anthony and Macy together only to fall for him herself (while not taking into account that Anthony already had feelings for Macy). The remaining 5% I'd say is Macy's fault for not confiding in Sally from the start about her growing feelings for Anthony (and even more importantly, about Anthony's persistent pursuit of her), and for not going straight to Sally and telling her everything once she realized what Anthony was doing, so the two of them could have teamed up and dropped him like a hot potato. She is right to want Anthony to distance himself from Sally (because he will break Sally's heart _regardless_ of what Macy does), but doesn't realize that she would be wise to do the same. If she wins Anthony but loses Sally in the process, that will be a HUGE net loss.

I'd say the first half of 1995 was strong while the second half was _very_ weak (due to the A, B, _and_ C storylines wrapping up almost at the same time in mid 1995). Also, I think the first half of 1994 is better than the second. Something really strange happens to the scene structure in the second part of 1994 where every storyline gets increasingly isolated from all other storylines and a lot of scenes feature the same people, in the same room, talking about the same things. It feels very claustrophobic.
