Macy and Anthony are definitely incompatible with their personalities. Too much inconsistency, indecisiveness, chaos and a sprinkle of negative attitude(s) pretty much guarantee their eventual downfall. @TriniT and/or @AnnieO ought to drill both their heads and set clear and defined boundary about their relationship.

Exactly. They have a very weird dynamic. It's like they are physically attracted to each other but they repel each other mentally. And Anthony totally sees Macy as an object. He has from the moment he met her.

*Anthony and Macy's ambiguous relationship status, or "Never Gonna Get It"* The show has been a bit contradictory regarding how far the relationship between Anthony and Macy has actually gone. It appeared that they spent the night together the day Sally threw the surprise birthday party for Anthony (but on the other hand, if they had slept together then, one might assume that Anthony would have been congratulating himself about it afterwards, and he didn't). Then, just after Anthony moved into Connor's house, Macy said that she thought them making love would complicate things and that they should wait because she wanted to do it right. Now Anthony says they have not made love "since he moved out of Sally's", implying that they had done it _before_ that (unless he is implying that they had an agreement that they _would_ make love after he moved out, but Macy has not followed through on that). These scenes don't entirely add up. If it were only this one scene in isolation, I would assume that they probably did sleep together on one or two occasions but haven't done it again since Sally found out about their relationship. But Anthony's _unfulfilled_ desire for Macy, and the "will they/won't they" aspect, will be a *major* plot point in a future storyline (as well as the driving force behind everything Anthony does), and the stakes there are considerably lowered, and some dialogue completely nonsensical, if they already slept together before, so it would make for a better long term structure if they actually didn't. Also, it would make the song Macy sang to Anthony in the beginning - "Never Gonna Get It" - a lot more significant in terms of narrative, because in that case Macy would have accurately narrated the theme of _Anthony's entire story arc_ in that one song. So based on that, I prefer the interpretation that as yet, they haven't slept together.

She did kinda pour it on strongly, like she really misses Connor, but I believe Anthony recognizes that Darla is flirty and a ditz, so he let his depraved libido take charge. After all, he was just turned down by Macy and unlikely to get his fix sooner than he would like to with her. Sally could have been acting like Darla and he'd take it.

Guiding Light was a great soap. I was working full time during the day in 1994, so---I didn't see this era of B&B. I also was never a fan of the "teenage summer season" of soaps---even when I was younger. 😊

I liked Guiding Light, but I stopped watching years before it was cancelled. I got tired of the show dominated on Reva Shayne. I like the character and Kim Zimmer, but I couldn't take year after year. She wasn't my favorite female character. My favorite is Holly For old school I'm friends with Elvera Roussel who played Hope Bauer Spaulding, who spoke when she remembered when it was a family show

Brooke: this is all my fault James: this isnt anybody's fault. People get married and with the children involved, theres a period of adjustment. You know, Brooke is very knowledgeable that she lies and withholds information... That's her trait to get her what she wants from whom she wants. Yet, when Steph points that trait out to her she denies it vehemently like she's the bastion of the truth. She also jumps on anyone else (esp Taylor) if they ever tell a lie bc then she thinks that person is now on her level (or maybe she feels like she's the only one who should ever be allowed to tell a lie / with hold info and get away with it).

Brooke initially sounded almost pleased that Ridge and James got in a fight lol. Makes up for the disappointment of that night when Ridge came to see bridgit and they almost fought. When this first aired I was a preteen, and clearly they brought Jessica/Dylan on for the summer to catch my demographic (and teenagers). And even when I was in that target demo I was all “these two are boring AF, bring back Taylor.”

The year I started watching All My Children, they had the teen storylines of Greg and Jenny and Angela and Jessie, but my favorite storyline was Palmer Courtland trying to gaslight his wife into having an abortion (Palmer figured out it was Chuck's before Donna did). I always found the older characters much more intriguing, even though I obviously like those younger characters also.

Yes, Anthony was right, Macy is like a bad dream. Relationships with Macy with every man she’s been with can never go anywhere, and never have. Something with her, actually its Macy’s terrible life decisions, that have caused every relationship with every man to never go anywhere. Maybe she gets off on it. Maybe its a type of fetish she has, or an obsession. She DOESN’T want any relationship with any man to go anywhere because she self sabotages every relationship on purpose. I love Macy, but every man should be aware, including Anthony, and Thorne, which goes nowhere again when they get back together. Lol

As obvious as the "we need a youth storyline for summer" storyline with Dylan and Jessica is, it occurs to me that it has been a while since this show had anything akin to a youth storyline in years. They had with it in 1987-1989 with Donna/Rocco/Katie, but I don't think they had anything since that gang left the show.

a few things: Sounds of Vivaldi by the pool --Excellent .... Sly is too old for Jessica, he's in his mid to late twenties, Dylan is a freshman and should be around 18 or so. Lastly, all the brilliant Sheila could come up with was she went shopping?? 🤔 And when the police ask her what she bought, and what salesgirls she interacted with, what will she say? She should have said she went out to get a pregnancy test and didn't want Brooke to know as she (Brooke) is close to Eric and didn't want Brooke to tell Eric she thought she might be pregnant, as Eric might think she was deliberately trapping him with a child. After all, they were intimate one time when she came back to L.A, so the lie would have been more feasible. It would also make her urgent exit from the office more plausible if she felt she didn't know if she were pregnant. Things like that can't wait. Plus, no one keeps a pregnancy test, so she won't have anything to show to the cops if they ask. And if she were being discreet about buying the test she could tell the police she bought the test and made a quick exit from the pharmacy so she could take the test and get the results. Case closed. in fact Brooke would have gotten so caught up in Sheila thinking she was pregnant, she would have forgotten all about the dead doctor.
