The Sally and Macy scenes i are more compelling than any of the other scenes in this episode. This is because they have the most genuine relationship on the show. As viewers, we genuinely root for them to reconcile. In many ways the entire Spectra gang gives the show the heart and soul that the Forresters don't.

I agree - the Sally/Macy relationship is a very well-developed and poignant one. I said before that this has been one "triangle" where the pair to root for wasn't actually the man with _either_ woman, but the two women together. We don't want Anthony with Sally or Macy, but we do want Sally and Macy to mend their relationship.

Obviously what you want is Jessica eventually living with Stephanie, but they could've had her live with Eric first and then it not work out (because of Sheila). And while Jessica was there, she would notice Sheila trying to conceive (maybe she finds Sheila's fertility pills or something) and she reports back to Stephanie which then sets up the Stephanie/Sheila war over Sheila trying to have Eric's baby. Meanwhile, Dylan starts coming over to Eric's house to see Jessica and Sheila tries to use DYLAN to get pregnant instead! (See how easily we can write better storylines than Brad Bell?)

And Stephanie will be the one will do the heavy lifting and carry the legal guardianship, not Eric. So, I guess Stephanie (and Eric) have another child now - Jessica. I could never understand how ppl could say Steph is not a loving person. Steph is a momma bear with her children where Eric is never even aware of what's going on. Even with Thorne.. The lady went to jail to save him after he shot his own brother. She's always going out of her way for her family, and now she is going out of her way for this young girl who is not even her blood relative. And her family never appreciates her. I say again, Eric should have taken Jessica to his house and have Sheila mind her. The new wife gets the title without any of the work/responsibility that steph has to always bear.

Macy must have accidentally stumbled upon whatever part of Felicia's wardrobe she left behind before leaving town. I usually consider Macy the best dressed woman on the show but she is _way_ overdoing the "new image" thing here... this is the least convincing transformation I've seen since Sandy in Grease. And Saul and Kevin's incredulous, almost alarmed, reactions show that this over the top aspect of Macy's new style is intentional (on the writers' part, not on Macy's) - she hasn't just reinvented herself, she has transformed herself into something that she _isn't._ And since she isn't being true to herself but just conforming to the image she thinks the record company expects of her, we already suspect that she _can't truly succeed_ like this, because her authentic self-expression isn't there. She's experimenting, but she hasn't quite found it yet. I like her hair though.

This Sally/Macy scene is actually excellent continuity! It mirrors the coldness that was between them at the very beginning when Macy first came to town, and Macy's attitude is also very similar - feeling rejected by Sally but hiding it by claiming she only came for material things (money back then, clothes this time). So in a way, this scene shows us that they are back to square one and have seemingly lost the progress they made over the past 5 years. But just like then, the distance between them is on a superficial level and you can see both of them subtly trying to reach out to each other - Macy when she first sees Sally, Sally when Macy leaves. Since Macy's behavior here, just like during her very first weeks on the show, seems somewhat childish and adolescent (especially with the "just wait until I'm a big star, then you'll be sorry for how you treated me!"), we get a feeling that what we're seeing here is actually a regression to the dynamic that existed between Sally and Macy _when Macy was a child/teenager._ And it also signals that what is about to happen in Macy's (and Thorne's) storyline is, in a way, the "second act" - it's a reimagining of the first part of that storyline, and this scene with Sally and Macy is quite similar to the very _first_ scene with Sally and Macy. And soon, the equivalent of the "children's hospital fundraiser" (that threw Thorne and Macy together working on a musical project) will occur.

In both cases, it's Sally's apparent lack of interest in Macy's achievents immediately prior that triggers her "rebellious teen" reaction. This time it's her music career, the first time it was her college graduation (Macy skipped her own graduation ceremony because she didn't believe Sally was planning to be there).

Macy deserves all the hatred her mother is throwing at her. She also deserved losing Thorne, and losing Jake, and losing Anthony (when she does, even though he turns into a crazy murderous villain soon). 1. Macy and Thorne were happily married despite family rivalries. 2. Macy decides to cheat on Thorne with Jake. 3. Macy turns to booze because she’s immature and thinks its the only way to handle her problems. 4. Then when Jake leaves, she starts messing around with Sly. 5. Macy’s multiple cheating pushes Thorne to Karen. 6. Macy decides after all that, she wants Thorne back and tries to steal him away from Karen, whom would have been a perfect mate for him. 6. Macy finally succeeds in stealing Thorne from Karen and they reunite. 7. A week later, she meets Anthony and lets him divide her and Thorne willingly and then dumps Thorne for him. 8. Macy and Anthony carry on behind Sally’s back, even though she knows her mother loves him, which is despicable.

Brooke is kind of right when she says James showed interest in her from day 1 (19:08) they were sparks between them when they met for the first time, on episode 1722 (15:30)

The only thing Brooke didn't do the last 7 years was go on national TV to announce that she was in love with Ridge and was waiting for him to marry her (even tho she did try with the Belief 2 launch). So Ridge is clearly a doofus, which is unattractive in my eyes. I guess when Brooke plays the role of Ridge's support pet after his wives die, she becomes more attractive to him...worked the first time after Caroline, now working after Taylor.

Caroline was first choice….Brooke was second choice…and Taylor third choice. According to the plot…Ridge chose Taylor over Brooke because he knew Eric still loved Brooke! This is why I could never buy Ridge and Brooke as this ultimate couple/destined to be. History has been rewritten in favor of them saying "they always found their way back to each other." Yeah, after Caroline died and Taylor "died" twice they found their way back. In the prime days of the show Brooke always got Ridge by default. No one can watch the scene when Taylor returns in 2005 and deny that she was the love of his life. Watching all the old episodes Brooke had to use a child/pregnancy to keep Ridge, whether it was his or not.

He is only on paper the legal guardian, like he was and is only on paper a father to his 7 children. He never in the real sense of way, in terms of taking care, raising, wearing and bringing them up was ever a father. Fatherhood means more than making babies, paying for them or being named the father on the birth certificate. It's also raising them, caring, wearing, making decisions, taking charge, protecting them. All of what Eric has not done with anyone of his children.
