I have to say, I don't think Ridge deserves any sympathy (from Brooke or anyone) for being upset that Taylor has remarried, given that he _himself_ has also remarried (and before Taylor did). If he wasn't over Taylor, he shouldn't have jumped into another marriage. And if he _is_ over Taylor enough to marry someone else, he needs to just accept whatever she does in her life that doesn't involve him. I would not expect any current wife to be sympathetic to her husband that his _previous_ wife has remarried.

Stephanie didn't really tell Ridge first though. He lets Brooke believe that but it's really that Taylor revealed herself to him. The writing is SO bad right now. These conversations are so awkwardly written just so they can achieve a certain kind of staging. The way Ridge and Stephanie revealed what they knew to each other the other day was so awkward and unnatural because they wanted Stephanie to confirm that Taylor was married at the end of the conversation. Similarly today, Ridge doesn't tell Brooke that he found out Taylor was alive from Taylor because they wanted Brooke to be shocked that Taylor was still in town and then give her the news of Taylor's marriage at the end.

That is Brooke's real secret - not Taylor being alive. So the parallel is really between Ridge finding out about Brooke being secretive (about her knowledge of Taylor), and Taylor being secretive (about marrying Omar), from a third person.

It's just a different show altogether after a certain point and history no longer matters.

If we are gonna argue about this soap then let's argue based on what happens in reality... if I come into a marriage with a child and the man accepts the child that I had before coming into the marriage and no one forced him to accept the child and also he is for all intents and purposes the main fatherly figure in the child's life seeing as the child lives with him then why is it that it cannot be their children... in order to make the supposed family unit that they currently share in the house then it would be logical that both children will be considered their children as ridge takes care of rick and is for all intents and purposes the a fatherly figure in his life...
