What does Brooke mean “what went wrong with us” ? You encouraged your mother to go after her husband and invited yourself into HER home unwanted, and then turned around and started sleeping with her husband yourself. It kills me how Brooke likes to pretend she has no idea why Steph doesn’t like her when she did nothing wrong smh

Exactly!!! She always felt like she was being treated unfairly, even though she had absolutely zero loyalty to Stephanie. And what's more, she was always extremely arrogant towards her!

Yeh Brooke is insane to think Stephanie has no reason to hate her like come on shall we go through the laundry list I mean…. We all know the history it’s classic legendary Brooke going after a Ridge she moves on to another man then back to Ridge it’s a pattern with her yeah she went after the forrester men then Ridges half brother Nick then the other pattern with her daughter husband Deacon and her sisters husband Bill like wow Brooke out of all the men out there she takes the ones who are already taken

When Brooke tells Stephanie "I want to start over with you", she means "I want to get pregnant by one of your male family members that I haven't tried before." And Stephanie just sees right through her and goes "what do you _want?"_ 🎯

*Taylor the Therapist Drives the Plot* Taylor's advice seems irresponsible when she knows Stephanie can't handle the stress of being around Brooke right now. But there's potentially a selfish motivation undergirding it. On some level Taylor wants and needs Brooke to stay with Thorne because that keeps her away from Ridge! The show has often put Taylor in this position where her therapist advice and her interests overlap, where she is able to use her authority as a psychiatrist to compel other characters (often Brooke) to act in ways that benefit her. For example, back when Brooke was trying to divorce Eric so she could be with Ridge and Taylor advised Eric to move back in with Brooke because Eric Jr was having adjustment issues. Or currently in Season 8 when Taylor's intervention in Eric Jr's crisis over his mother marrying his brother also serves her interest in driving a wedge between Ridge and Brooke. For Taylor, her role as a therapist is a way to assert control over the plot and try to steer it in her direction.

True that Taylor has been involved in Forrester's lives since Caroline's death and they often came to her office in need of some advice, even Stephanie when she didn't want her with Ridge went to her to talk about her obsession with Brooke. But she has always been more than honest and lucid. Not this time,in fact I said under Annie's post that Taylor, who is clearly still in la la land, wasn't lucid at all sending Brooke to Stephanie. But I have to say also that she didn't tell Eric to move back to Brooke's. She said the child needed his father in specific moments of his day. I really don't remember her saying to move back.

@@babs4848 Yes she was careful about how she said it. But still her therapist's advice and romantic interests were aligned and that's not a coincidence.

I thought the same about Taylor possibly encouraging Brooke for selfish reasons! (And it actually fits with an earlier plot point in the storyline, at the end of S12, when Brooke told Taylor that she had met someone but that the guy was involved with another woman, and Taylor encouraged Brooke to pursue him anyway.) But there is another side to this too. Taylor's advice may actually be the only sensible way to "cool the situation down" to avoid anybody getting hurt or unalived. It is unlikely that Thorne and Brooke will be able to end this relationship on an emotional level (even if they break up) as long as this intense "infatuation phase" lasts, which could be a while still. So, in the meantime, the only options appear to be either hiding the relationship (which h u rts Macy) or revealing the relationship (which h ur ts Stephanie). But Taylor suggests a third option which involves _lowering the stakes_ by reducing the tension that caused the danger in the first place, taking time, and ultimately allowing the relationship to run its course. Of course, this strategy of Taylor's doesn't work because Brooke isn't actually interested in mending fences with Stephanie for its own sake - she just wants to pursue her relationship with Thorne any way she can. So when Brooke realizes that she won't get the acceptance she wants from Stephanie, she gets impatient and goes back to her original idea of just taking a chance on telling Stephanie the truth, even if it unalives Stephanie.

Brooke: We have been through a 10 year war. Again, how can it be a *_10_* year war, when little Eric was conceived at the time when Stephanie's marriage to Eric crumbled and the divorce was finalized soon after the boy's birth, but Eric Jr. is already married and the father of a son?
