I grew up all my life in south Auckland. But the oldies would always tell me stories about what they went through growing up in Ponsonby around the mid 70’s and 80’s. It Brings joy to my heart when I see the older boys use their platforms to educate our younger generation. Never forget what our poly people went through in order for us to be where we are today. 💯 #4evaGrateful

My dad was a Croatian immigrant to NZ in the 60s and grew up in Ponsonby. When I was a teen ( about 20 years ago) he would tell me mad stories about rolling with the King Cobras. He still goes over ( in his 70s) from Australia to meet up with the dudes he would roll with , crashing parties and fighting people with fence pickets .

NZ's problem isn't gangs. It's that gangs are the only option for way too many people. We're all Kiwi's is a fucking myth. I hope some day this country wises up and stops pretending we don't oppress the most vulnerable members of our society and maybe then we'll all be Kiwi's.
