Hi Akash some correction needed 1:29 - Standard deduction is avaiable for salaried employees only. Thus for salaried employee it is 1275000 otherwise 1200000 only 1:36 - Tax Slabs are also change along with rebate 1:43 - No, in case of 1276000 (in case of salaried employee) tax would be only 1000 (87A also have the concept of marginal relief) 6:59 - TDS limit is 50000 per month (Yes FM also represent this point in wrong way in speech). 50000 per month and 600000 per annum are different things. 7:23 - No stock it is for interest income only

@ I kind of disagree with the part that KZbinrs should also provide solutions. Yeah, sure, they should if they have one, but most problems are very complicated and require experts to solve them. If KZbinrs had the solutions, we might as well elect them. The government exists to solve the nation's problems. KZbinrs highlight issues and bring them into the spotlight, making people aware of the challenges citizens face. I am not a economist but i know one thing very well, until unless India does not work on strict implementation on minimum wages and labor laws the wealthy people will always exploit the poor and the income divide will always be there. lets take example of Europe they are not developed by squeezing the poor but by creating a ecosystem wherein no one can employ anyone below the minimum wage. which creates system where even a plumber can buy a home and a car for himself by working only 8 hours a day and have a respectful life. ( can u imagine a honest hard working plumber can buy a car and home in India).

Basic literacy, math, science, language skills with good digital connectivity and a basic history and arts education is all we need. Basic Schooling for 15 years with 2 years of tradecraft is enough for most rural people to move to cities. All this can be done till class 12th and is done like this all over the world. North-Indian States are definitely not spending on Ed. Someone needs to put pressure on them. The voters certainly don't. They have no clue how to pick a candidate or put them up. Congress fucked this up. Now, this BJP is fucking it up even more. We are running out of time. Globalisation is over. Human level AI is almost here and overwhelming majority of our population can't tell basic fact from fiction.

Even before the budget was released, my plan this year has been to spend 0 on unnecessary things. The thought of shifting people to new tax regime is working but I still put my money in PF and other saving schemes. And I hope middle class people like me will make saving their first priority and take this tax relief only as a means for saving more rather than spending on unnecessary things. It is only and only the INCREMENT in salary which should be taken as a positive - to spend more money. A reduction in tax rates is just a signal that the problem lies somewhere deeper and only by making people spend more the economy cannot be revamped. Like you mentioned, there's no vision in this budget. The basics of education were not discussed and still the focus is only on IITs.

There is a concept of marginal relief, tax amount cannot be greater than income above exemption limit. That means in case of 12,76,000. Tax amount will be 1000 not 62000.

Mr Deshbhakt, you forgot to mention Penalty clause. Let me remind you, if someone earning 12.76 lakhs or 12.80 lakhs; in that case rest of the 12.80-12.75 = 5k Rs govt will charge as penalty clause and will not tax that person for whole 12.80. So mota mota....if someone is earning 12.80 lakhs per annum then that person will pay around 5K tax only.

Just a correction - people above 12 lacks will get a marginal relief so if you are getting like 10k above 12 lack does not mean you will be taxed on the whole amount , you tax liability will come around 10k only. Let me explain and forget about standard deduction for a minute. Lets say Total income 12 lacks and 20 thousand , so your taxes are - 0 - 4 = 0 4 - 8 = 20k 8 - 12 = 40k 12 - 12.2 = 3k Total tax 63k but now you get Marginal relief which will be 63k - income above 12lacks (20k) = 43k will be the relief So, the new tax = 63k-43k = 20k Tax so, Yes its true that if you get anything above 12 lacks , up to 70k will not add to your take home pay but its not like A person getting 12.5 lacks will get anything less in comparison to a person with 11.5 lacks. People making policies are IAS officers and they are not stupid , these things are taken under consideration.
