"Stephanie pleeeease" and one second later "I am having this baby now whether you like it or not" 😂😂

Brooke ignored the contractions because she was more focused on other things (and contractions can occur and stop,Braxton Hicks C. ). Do you thing Amber _wanted_ to lose her baby? They both have been careless and ignored the warning signs, but I doubt they "wanted" the outcome.

@@mara4450 but Brooke was _in labor_ and chose not to do anything about it. Given how fast the baby came, she must have been in active labor for quite some time. And this is her third time so she'd know the signs, and for sure she'd be able to tell the difference between Braxton Hicks contractions and "an hour away from delivery" contractions. I can't believe she didn't realize the baby was coming until there wasn't even time to call an ambulance.

Rewatching this episode all these years later, it occurs to me that CJ’s speech to Sally about how he tried to look after her since he was a kid and Sally divorced his father is a parallel of sorts to Bridget’s speech to Brooke in the previous episode, where she said she and Rick always looked out for Brooke. I wonder if the show was trying to set up a common ground for their friendship this summer when Bridget works at Spectra (if I’m remembering it correctly).

YES! It does feel like they are setting things up so that CJ and Bridget will have common ground. Not only have they both been looking after their mother, but they have both lost their spouse and a close family member at the same time - CJ through double deaths, Bridget through double betrayals. And both of their personal tragedies are at least in part caused by Brooke's affairs with married men (Bridget going through the _same thing_ that kiIIed CJ's sister).
