Bill told a lie and when Liam found out he ran to Steffy instead of picking up the phone and calling Thomas to inform him of the con his father and cousin were pulling. He could have told the truth at any time but chose not to. Steffy didn't cut out his tongue. He preferred to play Sally's hero rather than tell her the real reason Thomas left. Liam did exactly as he wanted but Steffy gets the blame because the little coward decided to hide behind her than step up and do the right thing. He's no victim.

@@avataz actually, they were about twenty minutes late with their payment when Bill coerced the banker to sell to him. That's how he got the company. The company was in trouble but they had not defaulted on their loan. Bill used the argument that they will and threw in a little blackmail to force their banker's hand. Tell me honestly, how many banks call in a loan minutes after a client misses a payment deadline?
