The scene with Macy and the decanter was well done. One of the reasons why Macy's character is so believable as an alcoholic (besides it working with her archetype) is that BE has actual _chemistry,_ for want of a better word, with bottles. It is obvious in this scene, enhanced by the subtle camerawork. The moment Macy sees the decanter, her entire face literally darkens - due to the lighting - and we can tell by the look in her eyes what it is that she is looking at, even before the camera shows the decanter, which is, in fact, _gIowing._ Then, throughout the scene, there appears to be a kind of gravitationaI puII between Macy and the alcohol, and her entire demeanor changes as she is drawn towards it. She appears nervous, guiIty, sneaky, completely different from the person she was just moments before.

Yes! It reminded me of this old Hitchcock movie, “Suspicion,” where Joan Fontaine’s character suspects her husband (played by Cary Grant) is trying to kill her. She thinks he’s put poison in her glass of nightly milk, and there’s a scene where she keeps looking at the glass and it actually seems to glow menacingly at her! Today’s scene with the bottle reminded me of that. (Side note: saw an analysis of this movie once and the commentator said the Props department had actually rigged up some kind of light in the glass of milk to make it glow. Maybe they did some sort of special effect here.)
@annieo652718 күн бұрын
@@FayeIL the lighting in the scene did look very well thought out. The room was dimly lit, and there appeared to be a spotlight on one side, so that when Macy turned her head very slightly to the other side to look at the decanter at 17:51, the light no longer reached her face. And it looked like a light was reflected in the crystal glass of the decanter throughout the scene. That was Brooke and Deacon. So where was the outrage against Brooke for that? These 2 literally kissed briefly 2 times and everyone is acting like it's the end of the world. *The missing episode 4058* Thorne and Darla talk about telling Macy the truth, and Darla says that she doesn't want her child growing up with a secret that could destroy their family. Thorne tells Darla about his parents breaking up because of a secret and realizes that Darla is right and that the same thing could happen to him and Macy if they don't tell her now. Meanwhile, Macy tells Sally that she has a feeling that Darla is uncomfortable around her. Sally encourages Macy to talk to Darla about adopting her baby (yeah, that's going to make Darla feel more comfortable), saying "what's the worst thing that could happen?" Oh Sally, if you only knew. Macy calls Darla and asks to come over and talk. Darla agrees. Amber visits Stephanie. Stephanie expects yet another Iecture but instead, Amber is supportive and embraces Stephanie (of course, Amber can relate as she had her own baby secret not too long ago). Apparently, Amber is the only person who remembers all those times that _Stephanie_ has been understanding and forgiving. Amber even points out that Eric has made mistakes of his own and has two children with Brooke. I never thought I'd be saying this but _thank you Amber._ Stephanie tells Amber about her talk with Jackie, and Amber correctly points out that Jackie is a complete stranger, and this is the most likable Amber has been in forever. Amber immediately goes to see Jackie and here's yet another unearned confrontation between two people who have never met before. Amber defends Stephanie and tells Jackie to stay away from Steph's husband. Macy goes to see Darla and is surprised to find Thorne there. Darla tells Macy that she can adopt the baby, and Macy is touched and overjoyed and her happiness is somehow _more_ heartbreaking that her grief after the hysterectomy. Macy promises to love the baby with everything she has. Sunshine and rainbows and tears of joy and the Mother's Plea music cue in the background. Oh, but first there's "something else" Macy needs to know. A minor detail, no doubt. End of episode.

But still it has been a bit too much that Amber after that immediately runs to the beach house and orders Jackie to leave during the next two hours and that Amber will be back to throw Jackie out if she doesn't. The writing created a mess with that "renting" (the Forresters making an agreement with Fenmore that Fenmore can rent it out to its employees without their knowledge), but whoever gets to make decisions about that beach house (honestly, it should be Ridge), it definitely isn't Amber's place either.

*The missing episode 4059* The confrontation between Amber and Jackie continues, and it is completely unbelievable that this is a scene between two people who have never met before. Jackie tells Amber that Eric's marriage is over and _how does she even know?_ Stephanie visits Eric in his office (security let her in this time?). She wants to put her marriage back together but Eric won't forgive her. Stephanie points out that Eric forgives Brooke for everything including taking FC, and asks "why am I so different?" Stephanie says that it's never going to be over between them. Amber goes to FC to have a meeting with a buyer from Fenmore's (why are Fenmore's buying the Ambrosia line?) and guess who it is? 🙄 Clarke and Sally chat in the Spectra office. Sally is thinking about baby names for her future grandchild ("Salvatore"), and Clarke immediately assumes that CJ got someone pregnant. Sally tells Bucky that she encouraged Macy to talk to Darla about adopting her baby, and Clarke is like "that is an _unbelievably_ bad idea". Sally realizes that Clarke knows who the father of Darla's baby is, but Clarke won't tell her. Darla has something to tell Macy about the father. She begins explaining how he is married to one of Darla's best friends and Macy is super supportive and kind and doesn't connect the dots, until Darla reveals that the best friend she is talking about is _Macy._ Macy realizes that Thorne is going to be a dad and she takes it about as well as can be expected. Darla and Thorne try to convince Macy that her adopting the baby is the "perfect solution" (actual dialogue). Macy goes "yeah, it's the perfect solution. I don't know why I didn't think of it myself. All I had to do was get the two of you in bed together and my problems are solved!" (also actual dialogue) and calls Thorne a maIe offspring of a femaIe canine and I wonder if this is why they didn't show the episode (after all, Steph was similarly eloquent in the missing funeral episode 3345).
@TriniT2119 күн бұрын
"Why am I different?" Steph has a point there. If they're going to drag her down to say she's just as bad as Brooke, then Eric can treat her just as he does Brooke and forgive her everything. 💁🏽♀️ To me, this just amplifies that Brooke gets a pass, unjustifiably so, for everything

Even with all her loses she holds her head high.

It is really too bad that Thorne was too drunk to remember that he actually _didn't_ betray Macy. He never intended to sIeep with Darla, and actually believed she was Macy until he woke up the next morning, but this is never ever clarified. Then again, the question is whether it would have made any difference. Regardless of how it happened, Macy might not have been able to live with Thorne knowing he has a child by another woman. Even if she could forgive him, she might be afraid that staying in the marriage under those circumstances might cost her her sobriety, like it did the last time. However, in retrospect, everyone would have been better off if Macy _had_ been able to forgive Thorne and raise his child. Macy would have lived, AIy would probably have lived, and it is possible that Darla might have lived too. Instead, all three of them end up dead.
@mara445019 күн бұрын
With their history of misunderstandings and hurting each other, it doesn't even matter if Thorne intended to sleep with Macy's best friend or didn't. Instead of confronting Macy, Thorne just ran off again and they both got drunk, ended up having sex and then kept that secret until the day they tried to convince Macy to adopt that baby. Macy had been worried to give up her life in Italy and to give Thorne another chance - and thanks to Thorne, Macy's sobriety is already at risk again. With B&B, everything is possible and every IF might just turn into a similar or even worse possibility. 😏🤔 With B&B's theme of relationships ending on a whim - 1) little Eric one minute calling Ridge dad and hugging him -to SORASed Rick loathing his big bro/on-off step-dad Ridge 2) Bridget falling for former dad/ brother Ridge 3) Hope calling Ridge dad until a SORASed Hope decided a manipulative and absent bio dad is still better than the past dad that she has to share with Steffy....) Aly might have just turned on Macy (and maybe on Thorne too) in the future if she had learned about Darla being the biological mom and Thorne and Macy facing another "misunderstanding" - Thorne hasn't matured that much yet, or has he? In the far future, Thorne even will be ready to get involved again with Brooke, won't he? - and who knows, maybe the writers still would have added trauma to Macy by writing Aly to be schizophrenic and hearing voices/ having hallucinations, or Macy would not have died because of some random criminals but because of Adam returning and someone again announcing that return in the newspapers or maybe on the TV this time and alarming the thugs to give it another try to kill Adam ......
@annieo652719 күн бұрын
@@mara4450 yes, of course the future storyline would have been uncertain regardless, but keeping Macy and Thorne together and raising a baby for at least a few years would definitely avert the chandelier incident. Darla might have died anyway (but in that case, it would probably have been Macy, not Taylor, driving the car), but I think Aly would have lived because Aly's death was caused by her being completely isolated on the show and that wouldn't have happened if Thorne had had more of a storyline and connections to other characters. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but this kickstarted Macy/Deacon and I loved them together. Too bad the writers were just looking for a way to get her out of the show again. I really wanted her to have the family she wanted for longer, she's been through a lot. And looking at B&B today Deacon's character never recovered from that and he's sunk to the lowest of the low.
@annieo652719 күн бұрын
Macy/Deacon were not a bad idea, but the show moved way too fast with them, having them get married like two months after they met. If the show had actually let the relationship develop more slowly, and not randomly kiIIed off Macy just as they were getting started (and before Deacon had a chance to get more involved with Hope, which would have caused a lot of drama between Macy and Brooke), it could have been a good storyline.
@DaytimeSlaytime-eq2nf18 күн бұрын
@annieo6527 I agree, it moved too fast but I see that as a symptom of them not wanting to invest in it or Macy's character because they knew they were gonna write her off anyway just a few months later. Nevertheless the actors did a good job of what was given. I did relish in Thorne trying to weasel his way back in but Macy said nope I don't love you anymore, haha. It really couldäve lead to good drama with Hope and Brooke. The fact that they acted like Deacon's son was a big deal and now they forget he exists (Deacon included). I would actually love to see Bobbie Eakes back, unfortunately they'd probably relegate her to the same plot driven role as they always do with Taylor in her returns.

With all that physical activities in recent episodes Eric should be a shadow of himself now. So much depressed fitness like angry walking, bursting through the doors, lifting sins of the world ('cause he is a saviour of this family of course) and screaming his self righteous, pompous s... tuff.

Another change to the opening credits. They swapped out the models who appeared before the first "The Bold and the Beautiful" with the photos of the one in the black outfit and the red bra (that is, the one that used to be seen up to mid-2001 before "The Bold and the Beautiful" appeared the 3rd time). Those photos were eliminated up until this point.

Neither Rick or Erik are to blame. Ridge is acting very selfish. He likes having Bridget around to occupy his kids and make them happy so he can be off the hook. This is not Bridget's job or place. She has her own life and should not be hanging around Ridges home. Its not healthy. Eric is right she will be hurt eventually as Ridge will go back to Brooke or at least try to.

Actually, Macy cheated on Thorne long before he cheated on her with Jake, her SIL's boyfriend. I love how this show forgets history to somehow blame EVERYTHING on Brooke. lol Macy is not some great person either. They're all flawed, and Thorne was actually very faithful to her when she was carrying on with Jake behind his back. Felica was the one that caught Macy in that affair! Why are you skipping episodes though? C'mon, I want to watch Nick and Brooke's time together, and I am betting we keep missing it because of this. You already skimped on her time with Grant who I initially loved, and now you're doing it with Nick? FILL in the missing episodes! As for Bridget, she's the one taking advantage here, and it's SICKENING. Her freaking name is BRIDGET because that man was her DAD for seven years of her LIFE! Bridget is so annoying.

Thorne and Macy were separated when she was with Jake, you forget how Thorne was cheating on Macy with Karen. Macy was the best person on the show.

I always wondered if it was Charles Grant's decision to vacate the role of Grant Chambers or if it was storyline dictated. I loved Grant and Macy together and they barely got 6 months together before he died. There was such potential there.
@untilwemeetagain201019 күн бұрын
@@kellymcquay2626 They got back TOGETHER, and she continued her affair with Jake. Now next time you want to talk about cheating, you remember the actual history or don't talk to me. She got back with Thorne and continued the affair, and she did not care at all about Felicia. Macy was AWARE of Karen the ENTIRE time. HE went to Karen AFTER Macy broke his heart.

@@PaisaEsteban I loved him with Brooke. KKL had chemistry with every man on this show, and she should've had a long-term relationship with most of them, but it was always going to go back to freaking Ridge no matter what happened.

@@untilwemeetagain2010 and Thorne was aware (because Macy told him) that she had been with another man during their separation. She never sIept with Jake after she moved back in with Thorne, but kept seeing him and kissed him a few times, and when she did decide to stay in the marriage, she distanced herself from Jake. Yes, it was an affair, but it was an emotional affair and it was the only time in 14 years that Macy did anything like that. Felicia and Jake had an open relationship at the time, since Jake had told her he wanted to see other women. (Meanwhile, at the same time that this happened, Brooke was on the Iab fIoor with her husband's son. So Brooke and Macy were already "even" back in 1991 when it comes to affairs, and Macy never did it again while Brooke just continued.)

O looky probably the Brooke hater group are going to pin the blame of Thorns, Macys and Darlas scandal on Brooke again. This just shows that Brooke was not needed and was never needed for this couple to self distract 😅😅😅😅
@annieo652719 күн бұрын
She wasn't needed _this time_ for the couple to be destroyed. She _was_ needed in 1999 and 2000 which is when she actually went after Thorne even though he was engaged, and later married, to Macy. Just because Thorne and Macy have broken up for other reasons as well doesn't mean that Brooke wasn't the reason that time when they _did_ break up because of Brooke.
@TriniT2119 күн бұрын
Steph is always blamed everytime Brooke's own plan for snagging Ridge backfires on her💁🏽♀️ Anyway, I haven't seen anyone try to pin any blame on Brooke in this scenario. She's already caused Thorne and Macy destruction, forgot about it, and moved on to her next victims several times over.
@rosmarygiovani19 күн бұрын
@TriniT21 I think you are exaggerating this is not the truth. Brooke has found comfort in other men's arms when she has just lost Ridge and looses her way. Also she has insecurities with men due to father leaving them at an early age and never looking back. You all talk about how obsessed she is with Ridge what's wrong with that she has loved him from the beginning and Caroline wanted Ridge to be with her knowing that Ridge loved her too. Except Taylor butted in and Ridge said goodbye to Brooke leaving her in his fathers arms. Later on Taylor showed us how she was running after him like a dog in heat. Actually I believe that both women are not to blam. Ridge just wanted his ego stroked. H thrived on it.
@annieo652718 күн бұрын
@@rosmarygiovani I don't really see how Brooke's issues can be interpreted as insecurities with men. She sees a man she wants and she goes after him, even if he is married. That doesn't seem insecure to me, that seems entitIed. And usually when she has found comfort in other men's arms it's not because she lost Ridge, it's because she _never had him_ and had convinced herself that he would leave his current girlfriend/fiancée/wife to be with her even though he had no intention of doing so. As for Brooke's father leaving, so did Macy's father. Taylor and Caroline lost their mothers. Darla is an orphan. I don't see how Brooke's behavior has anything to do with her father (especially since she has actually had her father back in her life since long before Rick was born, thanks to Stephanie).
@rosmarygiovani18 күн бұрын
@annieo6527 Well this is not my explanation but it is the one given later in the soap. You your opinion is not strong because these events of abandonment effect people in different ways we are not all the same. Some people react this way others in a different way. Brooke clings to new man because she wants to be protected and secure it has nothing to do with what you say. Almost all the times she reacts this way is when she loses Ridge. It happened with Deacon. It happened again with Thorn and Eric. Also what does caroline have to do with it her mother died she wasn't abandoned.
