The new Ridge is a far better and more natural actor imo, and has much stronger chemistry and energy in his sparring matches with Bill, which are just classic! Original Ridge had a great right look and presence in his day, especially for '80s soaps, but this Ridge is a more contemporary and believable take on the character. He also has more of the European exotic look, intensity and machismo, which befits the 'Maroni' influence. A more artsy, international playboy type.

No wonder why Ron moss left the show. He must have seen the writers ahead of time turn the ridge character into a whiney little kid and destroy the show right into the ground in the process and ronn didn't want any part in that. The real ridge forrester would never act this way. Heck the writers even destroyed the bill character by making him turn into a desperate old fool by chasing woman all over the place like a cat on a string. The new writers and production crew definitely took this show in the wrong direction.
