If I'm remembering correctly, it takes two to tango and Liam had already signed the papers to annul his marriage to Steffy and had proposed to Hope when they made Beth! Hope didn't chase him, he was already hers as had really always been. And that's nothing like when Hope was conceived as Bridgette wasn't divorcing Deacon tho think they were estranged but he just had an affair w Brooke. Hope was never just an affair to Liam, it's always been about him being her one true love from the start!
