This (the long scene starting at 13:59 and ending with Macy finally admitting she needs help) has got to be some of Bobbie Eakes's finest work on this show. The look in Macy's eyes, her tone of voice, and the way she is literally clawing at herself as she describes her craving for alcohol are chilling.

If you hadn't been out on revenge (eager to humiliate Stephanie) but still wanted to take over as CEO of FC, who would you have removed from the executive floor, sent down to the basement? A) Eric, the former CEO, founder and head designer? B) Ridge, the former stand-in for the CEO, star designer? C) Stephanie, who is now in charge of the PR (? or what is her job position/description) ?

@@marn25 I would have kept Eric and Ridge - because they have been executives already for the past 6+ years and so they have the experience that is still needed - and because I assume it might be helpful if a designer has natural light (while drawing or previewing the designs on mannequin dolls/ models. @@marn25 I too would have liked to hear some kind of job description for Stephanie (or one for Brooke in the future years, current episodes). When STERIC had been divorced, we had Ridge and Eric talking about convincing Stephanie to work at FC and then Eric said that he had to think of something because Stephanie was too smart as that they could just come up with something trivial (just to distract Stephanie from her depression). At one fashion show Stephanie spontaneously took over Felicia's part (told Felicia on a whim that Stephanie would do the introduction). Maybe Stephanie herself came up with a job description fitting to her skills and Eric went along with it.

@@mara4450 Stephanie has had spotlight or presentation parts during fashion shows, or organized parties for buyers etc, but these are 2? times a year events. Doing my research through soapies in 90's I've seen a lot of issues that identifies with real life addictions. In other words: two women I see have problems with quiting cold turkey in difference. This following 30 years back, for instance: in Days of Our Lives, Sami has a serious eating disorder (bulimia), and this in show Bold & Beautiful, Macy is tempted with alcoholism. And as soap watchers, we must learn to act quickly, understand each other, give support and get some help, before other people suffer the same fate.🤒💕

Ridge telling Brooke she won’t enjoy her revenge over Stephanie because it’s not in her nature to be cruel is not an accurate read of the situation (Brooke is enjoying it) but rather it’s Ridge trying to bring out Brooke’s best self, the good version of her that he knows is in there. This is what makes Brooke so interesting: she is a polarizing character who you can view either way, as either a heroine or a villain (hence her fans and her detractors). Stephanie has always been able to read Brooke more accurately and see her more clearly than the men in the family, but there are still softer sides to Brooke that Stephanie is blind to, and Ridge can see those. That's why he said all along she would've signed the contract if they'd just been upfront with Brooke and he was right. He's not exactly right this time around but he is trying to appeal to that side of her. And his intuition that the takeover is all personal, and includes Brooke's feelings for him, is also an accurate read (as Stephanie's firstborn, Ridge at times shows that he has inherited some of her perceptiveness).
