Beautiful images, but it is not Vevey but Ouchy, so Lausanne. I recognize the fountain which is still there :) and we see Lavaux and the Vevey region 10 km in the background.

How did they get "cinemascope" with just a Bolex h16???

The filmmaker used an anamorphic attachment called "Moller Anamorphot". It became available for 8 and 16mm in the late 50s. www.bolexcollector.com/accessories/filter50.html

What a beautiful clip this is. I wish we still had Kodachrome. It is not CinemaScope at all, just the same principle. It is a German Möller anamorphot with an 1,5x Squeeze, less than Scope, giving you a 1:2 image. The same was available for 8mm as 8/19/1.5x which I am using at the moment with Kodak 50D in a B8LA. Are there more clips by Florian Campiche?

The same accessory is later attached in front of the projector lens, with a special bracket, resulting in a wide "unsqueezed" image twice the width of its height. @@bolex
