My dad used one back in the 80’s possibly into the 90’s for news photography.

Man, I remember getting my EBM with mods, enlarged viewfinder, S16 for $1700 a few years ago! I now see them on the bay for like $4000+! This camera is great though. I really do think it's a stable camera too. I've shot enough stuff on it MOS to know it's a solid body that can do the job.

Regarding the battery, you can get a bootleg battery that lasts forever (I've charged it three times in five years) and it just uses spliced cable connections into the bottom. You just have to used a shoulder bag/messenger bag to hold the big battery with enough cable slack and then you can hook it onto tripods and make dolly shots and the image is gorgeous.

Yea I thought about one of those. The problem is you're now always carrying around two pieces to make it work. I'm probably just going to make an adaptor for the NP1's I use on the Aaton cameras and shove one of those in my backpack. Thanks for the tip/advice tho! :)

@@CinemaRepository it's my only cam, so I make it work. But honestly, it works incredibly well. The small size on a Dana Dolly really works wonders. I don't think anybody would ever know I shot some of the stuff I did on a Bolex lol. Short film The Wormwood Heart was all shot on it. Won Best Fantasy at festival and screened with Bertrand Mandico's latest feature in France for a few weeks, so I can't complain!

Hi, sorry to jump in but do you know of any battery solutions that I can get hold of in England? I've got an EBM with battery charger but there is no battery. I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Did you re- upload this video, or did you make changes? Anyway: very informative! Always fantastic getting hands on information about film cameras.

Yes there were a few issues that I didn’t notice when I first posted. I also added some stills and condensed a bit of my rambling. It’s hard working long days and trying to make this series. Mistakes to happen!

It’s kinda wonky to do, but you can do it with a basic lipstick security camera and a decent macro lens. You can just make a 3D printed adaptor. We thought about making a kit but the market is too limited.
