I think in mordern times that might be a bit hard with the advent of social media. Also I'll say this hero worshipping behavior is quite amplified in India, I've been to the west and generally people don't worship actors and actresses. They like them sure, but they aren't obsessed to the degree we are. We treat them as living gods, a behavior which we need to reflect upon. Btw this behavior also carries over to politicians, personally I'd blame the concept of avatars where we can accept that gods can descend to Earth in mortal form. This makes it sorta acceptable to worship 'mortal beings' as gods of sorts.
