Before Nikki Aheja, Madhuri Dixit was asked to play the role. But, she was busy in another famous films (Hum Aapke Hai Kaun and Raja). Director wanted the Madhuri Dixit opposite Anil. Producer was eager to complete the movie asap. Director found Nikki looks similar to the Madhuri's face and she was chosen replacement of Madhuri... It was her first debute Movie, and she played the role very well. She was praised. She got many offers in movies as lead actress. But, meanwhile her father died and she backed out her self from film industry. She never played any role after Mr.Azad. Movie budget was 2.5 Cr, and collected around 6 Crs. world wide.
