Both of them enjoyed tremendous popularity and blessed with people's love. Very few stars could match it . Stardom n downfall are very much part of the game.When Big B exploded on the scene, RK, the then reigning superstar, was getting physically bloated, annoyingly repetitive with his mannerisms n the phase of romance was fading out n getting replaced by revolt against establishment n action, thereby signalling the end of RK era n arrival of Big B. Add to that his arrogance, lack of punctuality, wrong choices. But all these failed to diminish RK magic a wee bit..over the years..he still resides in cinegoers' hearts.. And no, please DO NOT indulge in the game of "Big B is greater than RK and vice versa." The downright bad choices by Big B through mid 80s n the entire 90s.. his irritating mannerisms which were once lapped up, his failed foray into politics, BOFORS, his ABCL n Miss World debacles led to the dominance of stars like Mithun. Anil, Jackie n Govinda.. Records suggest that 80% films of Rajesh Khanna have been super duper hits and only 25% films of Amitabh have been hits. Moreover, Amitabh Bachhan is no where near Rajesh Khanna in giving 15 super duper hits for consecutive three years (1969 to 1972) without a single flop. Many films of Amitabh are super flops which did not run even for a week in theatres. This is my personal opinion. Salute to Rajesh Khanna!!!!!!!!!!
