Established on April 16, 1861 in Capua with the battalions from the XXVIII to the XXXIII, he expands his ranks to count eight battalions and, in December 1865 change numbering in the 4th Bersaglieri Regiment. It is reconstituted on January 1, 1871 in Ancona with four veterans battalions of the countryside for the circumstitage, the VI, the XIII, the XIX and the XXI, all from the 1st regiment. Lost the XXI, remedied in I, II and III, the other battalions, contributes to the formation of departments framed in the countryside of Eritrea.
Engaged with over a thousand men in Libya in 1911-12, he faces the Great War with the rows completed by a cyclist battalion. In line in '15 in the Plezzo basin, on the Karst in '16, on the Isonzo, the Vodice, the Bainsizza in '17, the regiment closes the First World War on the Red Sasso in 1918. Reorned in 1923 in cyclist regiment, he maintains In life the VI and the XIII Battalion.
Employee in the Spanish War, the regiment operates inQuhed in the Celere division "Emanuele Filiberto's head of iron" in Yugoslavia, Bosnia and Croatia, then with the "Pricipe Amedeo Duke of Aosta" part in 1942 for the Russian front. Returning to Italy with two gold medals to the flag in April '43, on 1 July 1943 he became 6th motorized bersaglieri regiment. He melted on September 8, 1943 following the armistice.
On 1 October 1969 the VI Batarrione Bersaglieri is reconstituted framed in the 22nd "Cremona" Armored Infantry Regiment to the Department of which remained until 20 October 1975. The regiment is dissolved as a result of the 1975 renovation, the battalion based in Turin assumes the denomination of 6th Bersaglieri Battalion "Palestro" and is framed in the 3rd "Goito" mechanized brigade of the "Centaur" division.
The battalion in the context of the 1985 renovation is placed in a "picture" position and therefore suppressed on May 31, 1991.
On September 16, 1992, the 6th Bersaglieri Regiment is reconstituted on the 6th Bersaglieri Battalion "Palestro" into Solbiate Olona, for the transformation of the pre -existing 10 "Bersaglieri Battalion" Bezzecca ".
The regiment participated in the operations abroad and at home he saw the armed force engaged.
Progressively reduced in the paintings in the Bologna headquarters, it is reconstituted in the Trapani headquarters on April 15, 2005 for the renomination of the pre -existing 12th Bersaglieri Regiment.

Porca la miseria mi viene da piangere ogni volta che vedo i Bersaglieri. Mio nonno fu uno di loro il Caporal Maggiore Grillenzoni Mario. Dispiegato dal 40 al 42. Avrei voluto seguire le sue orme. Conservo tutte le sue medaglie, il basco ed il suo amato Sax.

Sono un vecchio fanfarista delle fanfare prima di s.bDona di Piave e poi di CEGGIA. Adesso no c'è la faccio più ma sempre evviva i bersaglieri.
