Richie finally understood the reason why he was so shitty to everyone around him, he felt shitty about himself. The moment he realized he was worthy of respect and learned to respect himself, he realized respecting and serving other people is noble

I really don't think Syd was doing too much. Carmy was supposed to be her partner in a very unstable marketplace and we see that he just bails on her. She had to create the menu on her own, test it out and put in the work we don't see Carmy doing, only for him to want to change things two weeks to open because his girlfriend-not girlfriend who isn't a chef has opinions about what the menu is. She's more than entitled to feel frustrated tbf.

It wasn't only this moment. Like Lupa said Carmy is not talking to her about work. He also blew her off when they were going to meet for the menu to go out with Claire, and he is dropping the ball on a lot of things. So, it was a buildup of it all.

Y'all are tripping. Carmy told Syd, 10 DAYS BEFORE THEY OPEN MIND YOU, that he wasn't feeling the menu just off a conversation he had with Claire, a conversation, mind you again, that he NEVER bothered to have with Syd, his actual business partner. Carm was in the wrong full stop. This whole time we have seen Syd busting her ass while also trying to communicate with Carm, while all we saw of Carm was him obsessing over Claire. Syd had every right to be frustrated and to voice those frustrations because he is NOT being a good partner to her right now. Also having a conversation with your GF/BF about work is fine, but making business decisions based off of that conversation is not okay, business decisions are to be made with business partners.

I think the whole argument with Sydney and Carmy is that there is no communication. Ever since he ditched her to try out restaurants to get inspiration for recipes he’s not been communicating with her. When he took down the walls he didn’t even send a message or anything “hey the walls are toast”. Then suddenly you have ideas which you came up with a whole other person (said person you’ve been ditching me for) when Sydney is your partner. This is even more stressful for her since her dad and all the chefs at the restaurants she was visiting were speaking about having a reliable partner when he kept proving to her that he was a bit unreliable.

it's been a pretty consistent thing between Carmy and Syd bc even w the brigade and the power outage he would leave Syd alone in The Beef for who knows how long without assisting her but since they're partners that part of their work relationship hasn't changed and he's completely shut down on communicating w Syd even though that's the LAST thing he should be doing when starting a restaurant

Carmy was very frustrating this season. Yeah dude you absolutely deserve good things to happen to you in your life but you decided to start this restaurant and in your own words to Syd you have to live this shit. Claire will be there, but right now your business partner and your employees need you.

yeah Syd was def a lot more chill about that than i'd have been. like you're telling me that i've been busting my ass for OUR business, going all over, stressing out and also constantly trying to keep you in the loop and having you ignore me, and now all of the sudden you have decisions on things that you decide to foist upon me when we're about to open in less than 2 weeks? really? and not only that, you've already discussed it w someone else, who not only are they not your business partner, they're also not a part of our business, nor are they even a part of our industry. i'm not saying he can't talk to claire, but because he already fvcked the communication w Syd, it just felt wrong. he has her number. he could've easily called her to see what's what

It's so bizarre but it hits so close to home. Some of us mfs are so stressed out and worried about so much shit that we don't know if people are hittin' on us or want to date us, or in this case, they both are living together but carmy goes - 'i don't know if she's my gf'. The writers are in the brain of traumatized overworked people. It's so great.

Yea when they were getting on Syd about taking it to far and passive aggressive I was like uhh? Carry had been flaking on Syd all season when it comes to the restaurant. It wasn’t unreasonable for Syd to expect her and her partner in this business to finalize the menu together. Instead Carmy did all the brainstorming about the menu with Claire, wtf.

They have been criticizing syd from s1 which is ok but I noticed them being specifically harsher on her esp sheera calling her passive aggressive (which she wasn’t?) and other questionable things & it confuses me how they can see the good on everyone but her & they KEEP taking any person side instead of syd esp carmey except lupa he keep saying he understands her which the other 2 clearly don’t (esp sheera its like she is trying to pick on her..atp it’s a personal beef😭) and the fact that they jumped to “syd don’t want carmey to talk to anyone outside the work ab the work” conclusion is CRAZY bc no way u took the “u been ignoring me when I am trying to save ur ass & UR restaurant & leaving me to do all the work that we said we will do together alone then don’t tell me when something is wrong or try to discuss it with UR WORK PARTNER only for u to go and discuss it with someone else” as the “CANT HE DISCUSS IT WITH HIS GF?” like she didn’t have a problem with him telling what’s her name but he need to do it with her too since they’re literally PARTNERS😭sheera and roshi give everybody the benefit of the doubt except syd and they always hold her accountable (when it’s needed & when it’s not like the communication part) but not the others esp carmey like they literally BABY that man😭

I think it was confirmed in the 1st season. He was also in a war so I think high stress, hierarchical environments gave him some pstd and caused a arthritis flare up

Sydney was for sure being passive aggressive but I understand her being annoyed at Carmy because he's been so distracted he hasn't been a very good business partner to her. For him to suddenly have a bunch of new ideas that he's immediately ready to implement, that he came up with with someone who's not at all apart of the restaurant, when she's been trying so hard to collaborate with him and workshop her own ideas on what's supposed to be their shared project is irritating.

Yeah Carmy said in order to do well you need to give 100% +++ and here he is all distracted with this NEW relationship. and leaves Syd trying to put everything together by herself. He is not there like he should be. Eating, dreaming, and breathing that desire for the new restaurant.

Really excited to see how you'll react to the last two episodes of the season. As for this episode, it was good. I think I have a new appreciation with Ebra's role, being an OG for The Bear rather than trying to shift to a fancier restaurant style. I wish he still had an arc or something in an episode, though.

14:41 She really doesn't like Sydney. She was what, the first or second person whose life they showed? And when her and Ritchie were talking about his suit I could literally tell she was about to go off on Sydney. It's super interesting to see how people react to a show about flawed characters but despise some then adore others. There's nothing wrong with Carmy being inspired by Claire, the issue Sydney is frustrated about is the fact he's literally changing the menu 10 days before opening. That wouldn't be acceptable in any establishment, and it puts avoidable stress on everyone else. And not communicating with her is something Carmy has done from season 1, so I really need Sydney to be more confident and also let go of any idolisation she had for Carmy as a great chef moving forward. Because the whole reason Sydney applied to work there was because she wanted to work with him because of his expertise, and from how the team treated her to how Carmy tells her she needs to focus on the restaurant but doesn't follow this advice himself, I don't see her story ending well and that worries me. I want to speak more on the Sydney hate, Ritchie adoration and Carmy and Tina too, but this comment is already too long. 😂

Love Carmy but he annoyed tf out of me this season w his communication . I’ve worked in projects before and it’s annoying when members disappear and don’t even do routine checks with the group and then show up last minute with ideas and want to change what was done. Claire’s idea is new but that don’t got nothing to do with (ME) and what we’ve been doing for months, especially when you haven’t been communicating with your business partner. Carmy didn’t have bad intentions but I’ve been in Sydney’s shoes before.

they do a really good job at making you feel stressed with this show. for instance him counting down from 10 but it was longer than 10 real seconds makes you feel what they're feeling with the whole "longest 10 seconds of my life" kind of feeling. or even when Cousin was apologizing and they put the camera right in their face to put us right in their conversation again is really cool.
