It is time for a new Howrah bridge connecting Howrah station with Kolkata over Hoogly.

But this bridge is not over Hoogly river. This is the relpcement of the Chandmari pridge connecting Howrah Maidan to Salkia inorder to expnd the number of train tracks.

Hopefully Howrah station can redeveloped after this.... many major and even minor stations are going through redevelopment with concourse and what not. Howrah station is the busiest station in IR and still not in the redevelopment list.

The new bridge is to replace current Chandmari bridge(G.T.Road) connecting Howrah Maidan to Salkia. Google map street view already showing the Tower mostly completed. In fact this video is showing the tower at 3:51 time level.

Howrah - Barddhman mainline & chordline এ 4th line কবে তৈরি করা হবে ? যার জন্য 2nd line এর উপর pressure কমবে, এই 4th line হলে একসাথে দুটো up train এবং Down train চালানো যাবে, যাতে train extra late করে সেটা আর হবে না , লোকাল ট্রেন আরও বেশি চালাতে পারবে এবং আরও বাইরের রাজ্যের সাথে connect করতে অনেক express চালাতে পারবে , এবং katwa line এ 3Rd line হলে ওই line এ local train বাড়াতে হবে , বেশ কিছু katwa - bandel local train চলে যেইগুলো extend করে Howrah পর্যন্ত চালাতে পারবে ,এবং বেশকিছু এক্সপ্রেস via katwa হয়ে চালাতে পারবে তাহলে azimganj , salar side এর গ্রামের মানুষ গুলি খুব সহজেই আস্তে পারবে howrah line এ
