Thank you BunduBallerina! You are doing the best job in promoting young dancers of big Russian ballet theaters! I feel that you are not only showing us your favourite dancers but also young dancers that are rising stars based on their debuts and promotions. This is what I like most about your videos, you are a genuine fan, with huge respect for all dancers, and with a channel open to all kind of criticism even if it is against your favourite dancers. There might be some other forums/youtube channels that can occasionally offer more interesting discussions/exchange of opinions but there are usually way too many unkind comments from fans of specific dancers who make the experience really unpleasant at times. Your kind approach inspires most commenters to follow your way even during conflicts and disagreements. I too feel inspired. Your channel is an oasis in the ballet world. ❤❤❤❤❤

Can you imagine this? Even BEFORE she graduated she was already dancing solo parts with the Bolshoi Ballet. And now she barely started working with the Bolshoi Company and was already cast to dance Odette/Odile, I mean, she is a GENIUS! I've never seen anything like that, the dancers took a way longer time to be given this opportunity, and she nailed it as soon as she joined the company! I am thrilled to be witnessing her success. While she was still at the academy I wrote her a message telling ber: Girl, you are gonna be Prima Ballerina of Bolshoi Theatre, and she was very kind to me. I was dying to watch her graduation performance, THANKS for posting this gem!! Do you know where we can watch the hole graduation performance? Thank you for finding new comers. It was very interesting to see her dancing Swan Lake. She is still too focused on perfect extensions and this does not let her focus on interpretation. Such extensions are not surprising any more. We have seen them since Nadezhda Pavlova became a sensation with her technique in 1973. For last 20 years a lot of prima ballerinas and first soloists demonstrate great technique, but interpretation comes second. Lopatkina has been the most inspiring in Swan Lake this century. I wish Sergeenkova to become an outstanding ballerina in the future.
@kellyantoniadou88972 жыл бұрын
I agree with you about the focus on extensions but it is not her fault. Vaziev wants to create the next Zakharova and, in fact, he was responsible for the fast promotion of Zakharova and Somova in the first place. Many ballet fans are tired of high extensions that distort the classical ballet lines and often make ballerinas have turned in legs and/or weirdly bent torsos. In my opinion, after Zakharova, Vishneva, and Osipova there have not been such ballet prodigies in Russia that justified insanely quick promotions and debuts in important classical roles (with the exception perhaps of Khoreva due to her all-around technique perfection). Or if there had been such prodigies they did not receive the chances they should have. Sergeenkova, even though I am not fascinated by her or don't care for her as much as I do for other young dancers, is undeniably a ballet prodigy for me with amazing technique and stage presence at her age.
@carolyates34852 жыл бұрын
Whilst admiring her lines I also lament the loss of the older “style” a side slit of 180 degrees doesn’t always produce the the loveliest silhouette.I also thought that whilst her work is so clean and in many ways flawless that she totally failed to convince me she was a 16 princess newly introduced to court life. There wasn’t any of the sheer joy of life and of being young and beautiful that other ballerinas (Nunez, Rojo, Ect ) bring to the role. It will be interesting to watch her future develpement

However, I do believe that she has much potential. I think the Bolshoi may be trying to make another Zakharova. Is it possible? I do not know. She has the look and dances with a high caliber of regency and elegance. Her technique is great and will only get better and better with time and storytelling comes with experience, for most. Very impressive! Especially the finale of the black swan solo. For a really towering ballerina I still miss articulation and statement, meaning, a pirouette is really a pirouette and ends first before falling into the next step. While her extensions and also body proportions are really breathtaking, I miss articulation for instance in the ecartées in the white swan solo. Think of Sylvie Guillem for an instance and how she was able to celebrate that short moment on pointe with maximum extension...lastly the Rose Adagio in Sleeping Beauty: If you don't raise your arm to a couronne in balance, the change from prince to prince doesn't really count. To sum it up: Very promising but has to work on her core to have more control over her balance - and that in order to have better control over her articulation. And articulation is what really makes an artist.

Out of the many private reasons why Olga left Bolshoi, Eva must be one of the reasons.

You can't be serious? I doubt someone of Olga's calibre would be intimidated by Eva.

Olga left in protest of the war in Ukraine (silly move, in my opinion, as if I left a country for every dumb decision they made, I’d have hopped all 187 countries 9000x around). And no, just no.

@iskander210242 жыл бұрын
@iskander210242 жыл бұрын

It’s hard to tell how good a dancer she is when she’s hemmed in by the undanceable Russian choreography.

Beautiful feet and legs, like Maria Khoreva or Sylvie Guillem, almost an S shape, very impressive. She is so young and she has to find her style and artistic personality, away from the school .... I would like to say that the staging and the costumes of the 4 princes, Mousquetaires like, are a bit ridiculous, specially the men at the back of the stage with the flower hoops, very kitsch, I am sure that the Bolshoi can do much better ....The Swan Lake is perfect

Thank you. Many versions of Sleeping Beauty actually have the men holding flower hoops and making patterns with them in the Waltz of the Friends.

She should have better grooming. She's short, too. Good dancer.
