People will prime in black so if they miss hard to reach areas they wont be as visible as grey or white . Nice figures Alex . Regards Gav.

Not sure I know what you mean by glazing Alex. Is that a technique or product? Fantastic paint job, and I have a set of these I wanted to get to sometime.

Thanks Jim, it's new to me and I will try and master it. It's the use of changing colours by incriments by making it lighter on the higher contours. It is way above my skill level 🤣

Have you painted the webbing brown?

Yes brown, should it be black?

@@PriceyCommissionPainting Depends, nicked a print from online (Osprey I think), that gave three images of German Grenadiers in Europe 1944 to 45. Their belts are all black leather though in one case the Y straps were canvas, described "Tropical uniform" which I read as former Afrika Korps. But otherwise the references I have seen have been black leather. However, if you had a reason, may be?

Your eyes are wrong. Where you can actually see the pupils they all have the thousand yard stare. Try this. Look into your own face in the mirror and tell me if the whole of your pupils are visible or if the top and the bottom of the pupils are covered by your eyelids. If you don't do it this way, your models look perpetually startled and it is one of the reasons I don't use commissioned painters. You guys cost money so it is annoying to be disappointed. Having said all of that and looking at the Grenadiers I have to paint you have set a standard for the balance of the work.

Thanks for your observations Bodkin, I appreciate it. My skill levels are limited as I am constantly learning and I am in no way a good painter. I will try better with the 👀 👍
