I've wanted a 12 gauge bolt action for a long time and found one online for a good price.

I have this same gun, right down to the poly choke. My grandfather bought in new and it's never been fired. He didn't hunt. He bought it for home defense.

Cool, then it's in better condition than mine! I've heard how a lot of people owned the bolt action shotgun for home defense because it was so affordable.

👍👍 That’s a great looking shotgun, thanks for sharing Rustic. I’ve never owned one but have seen them.

Thanks! I was told once that they are more common in the South.

@@rusticredd6294 yep, I live in Alabama and have a couple of friends who own one.

@@YellowHammer26How cool! Have you shot one? I've never been to Alabama, but I really want to go there sometime.

@@rusticredd6294 No I have never shot one …. Saw them when visiting a couple friends at their house. Don’t remember the manufacturer but they were sharp looking shotguns.
@rusticredd629411 ай бұрын
@@YellowHammer26 Gotcha. They sure are sharp looking. That was one reason why I wanted one.

I did a video as well I have a Mossberg 195 K - A adjustable choke called (select a choke) bolt action 12. and it has 2 round mags, im makeing a 10 round currently, love the gun its amazing. I'm really surprised more people haven't purchased these in the past and they weren't as popular I just think they're cool as heck cool video!
@rusticredd62946 ай бұрын
Thanks, man! I just saw your video, that is a neat shotgun! I'd love to see a video of your 10 round mag. I wish these are still made today, and I too think they are cool. I love telling people how there is such a thing as a bolt action shotgun.

I have one of these that I bought at 18 yo im 43 now. Mine was setup for deer. The choke was removed and a scope was added thid was all prior to me purchasing it. I had no idea what it was at first. That said the ol cannon will throw a slug into a 4 “ group at 100 yards. More than sufficient for non rifle deer hunting.

Nifty! Sounds like a great deer gun that has stood the test of time. I turned 35 today.

The bolt action is for reliability. You have most reliable single shot . Then bolt action, pump, and of course least reliable semi - auto... Especially in cold and dirty conditions. Don't matter how many you have in the tube if it doesn't cycle. Your welcome😂 😂😂😂

Dude, that is sweet!

Thanks!
@bertroost16759 ай бұрын
If it was a very cold area a bolt action might be the best bet if one wants reliable follow up shots. If it is cold enough it could make a semiauto action not work properly, or maybe a pump too.
@rusticredd62949 ай бұрын
Ooh, that's some good information there. It makes sense too about the semi auto. Thanks for the information!
@bertroost16759 ай бұрын
@@rusticredd6294 I am only speculating. I recall watching a video about Canada selecting a suitable modern rifle for their northernmost territory and being a bolt action was crucial in their decision due to the effect of bitter coldness on the guns.
@rusticredd62948 ай бұрын
@@bertroost1675 It is a good point either way. Bolt actions do have a reputation to be reliable, and they're awesome!

I had a friend in High School him and his dad hunted with long barreled bolt action shotguns, not sure if they were the Mossberg though.
@rusticredd629411 ай бұрын
That may have been the Marlin model 55. My dad had a friend who had one of those a long time ago.
@pinkhead68578908 ай бұрын
If they were long barrled then then were probably Marlins. I consider the 26" barrels on these bolt action Mossbergs to be rather short
